Transformation Time!
This stunning great horned owl has come a long way since arriving as a late orphan last fall. From helpless yet opinionated ball of fluff to a confident and self assured young adult, this beautiful bird will be returning to the wild soon!

Vultures may not be the classic "media darling" but they are always adored by our team. These curious birds are very clever so our team has to stay on their toes to come up with puzzles and other enrichment for vultures during the rehabilitation process!
The algorithms may not favour vultures, but volunteer Al Eastman sure loves them and he made this great portrait of "Hiss Majesty" to share with all of our vulture-loving friends!

Al Eastman was on hand to help us share the big move for this northern saw-whet owl! This small-and-mighty bird arrived with a painful eye injury after being hit by a car. Happily, this little owl's eye has fully healed so it's time for a large outdoor enclosure!

It is hard to believe that this impressive great horned owl arrived as a tiny ball of fluff late last year! This beauty has been growing big and strong in preparation for rerelease into the wild!

These teeny little black and white warblers are one of the earliest warblers to arrive in NS each spring!

Black and white warblers sport crisp black and white patterns that help them to blend in with tree bark as they creep along looking for tasty insects to snack on. Although they are often spotted up in the trees, they make their nests on the ground!

That’s right, these stylish little birds nest in the leaf litter on the forest floor. Many species of birds make their nests directly on the ground, so easy ways to help them are to stay on trails and keep pets on a leash!
