For more than four decades, SPEC has been proud to support and create meaningful opportunities for young people across the Brooks Newell Region.

Today, we celebrate the incredible youth who bring energy, creativity, diverse perspectives, and so much potential to our communities. 💙

Our commitment to youth continues, and we’re looking forward to what comes next as we find new ways for young people to connect, belong, grow, and be heard.

Vendor applications for Taste of Nations close August 20!

ATTN: STUFF THE BUS IS BACK!!

Grasslands MHCB, in partnership with Brooks & Newell Safe Communities, is excited to host the Grasslands Stuff the Bus event! We are coming together to make sure every student enters the new school year confident, equipped, and ready to learn.

All school supply donations will go directly to supporting students in need across all schools in the Grasslands School Division.

Date: August 19th
Time: 2:30 PM – 6:00 PM
Location: Walmart Parking Lot
(917 3 St W, Brooks, AB)

Most Needed Items Include:

• Everyday Basics: HB pencils, white vinyl erasers, glue sticks, and 30cm rulers
• Coloring & Crafting: Crayola washable markers, pencil crayons, crayons and child-sized scissors
• Classroom Essentials: Duotangs (with prongs), 2-inch binders, and Hilroy notebooks
• Tech & Personal Needs: Headphones/earbuds, backpacks, and reusable water bottles
• Classroom Care: Kleenex boxes, hand sanitizer, and Lysol wipes

In a rush or don't have time to shop? No problem at all! We will gladly accept Walmart gift card donations on-site, and our team will happily do the shopping for you!

Come say hi, grab a few extra items off the list while you shop, and help us fill the bus for our local students.

Today! Come for some great food on the front lawn at SPEC Association 11am to 2pm! Thank you to JBS Canada and Shoppers Drug Mart for helping to make this happen!!!! Good food, great company and perfect weather :-)
