PURSUANT to sections 230, 606, and 692 of the Municipal Government Act, Statutes of Alberta, Chapter M26, 2000, as amended, the Council of the County of Newell in the Province of Alberta hereby gives notice of its intention to consider Bylaw 2138-26 being an amendment to the existing municipal Land Use Bylaw 2016-21.

THE PURPOSE of proposed Bylaw No. 2138-26 is to redesignate portions of the above-noted lands from AGEN Agriculture, General District to I-GEN, Industrial, General District to allow for the subdivision of three industrial lots.

AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE THAT anyone wishing to make a presentation regarding the proposed bylaw should contact the Chief Administrative Officer no later than 4:00 p.m. on the 15th day of October 2026. Both written and/or verbal presentations may be given at the public hearing.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR PROPOSED Road Closure BYLAW 2133-26.

The County of Newell in the Province of Alberta hereby gives notice of its intention to close the following portion of road: SW 4-21-13 W4M & SE 4-21-1 3W4M

Take notice that a public hearing to consider the above-noted bylaw will be held on October 22, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. in the County of Newell Council Chambers. Any person(s) who claims to be affected prejudicially by the proposed bylaw must register their concerns, in writing, to the Chief Administrative Officer no later than 4:00 p.m. on October 15, 2026.

🔥 Fire Prevention Week 2026: Charge Into Fire Safety™. Safe Charging Is a Superpower!

Lithium-ion batteries power much of our everyday life, but they can overheat, start fires, or even explode if not handled safely. Use your charging superpower by making smart choices every time you plug in.

âś… Only use the cord & charger that came with your device
âś… Charge on a hard, flat surface like a table, desk, or floor
âś… Stop using immediately if the battery smells, pops, or overheats
âś… Unplug your device when it is fully charged
âś… Charge large items like e-bikes, scooters, and power tools
outside when possible
âś…When charging on a plane, keep portable charging devices on the tray
table

You can safely recycle lithium-ion batteries through the Newell Recycling Association by dropping them off at their household hazardous waste or e-waste collection areas.
