🔥A Fire Restriction is in place throughout the Special Areas, effective Friday, August 14, 2026.

🚫This restriction is imposed on all outdoor fires except gas/propane BBQs or campfires in designated camping areas unless specifically posted.

📝Any existing Controlled Burns may be suspended or cancelled. New Controlled Burns are not approved until the Regional Fire Chief or Regional Deputy Fire Chief has contacted the ratepayer directly to approve or deny the request.

Our neighbours at Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Suffield are conducting a large scale explosive blast with Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) and the Suffield Research Centre between August 12 and August 13

Residents in the surrounding communities may hear the blast or see the plume.
Fire suppression resources will be on scene, and multiple mitigation measures will be
employed throughout the operation.

🔥CFB Suffield will be conducting scheduled burns between April 13th to 30th, weather permitting.

🔥These burns are part of CFB Suffield’s fire mitigation plan and are conducted to reduce grassy overgrowth that could otherwise contribute to uncontrolled grassfires and may result in visible smoke in surrounding areas during this period.
