🚨NOTICE🚨

🔥CFB Suffield will be conducting scheduled burns between April 13th to 30th, weather permitting.

🔥These burns are part of CFB Suffield’s fire mitigation plan and are conducted to reduce grassy overgrowth that could otherwise contribute to uncontrolled grassfires and may result in visible smoke in surrounding areas during this period.

🔥 Did you do a controlled burn recently?
Now’s the perfect time to go back and check your burn piles. Even when they look out, old piles can smoulder deep underground for weeks. All it takes is a gust of wind for a hidden ember to flare up into a fast‑moving grass fire.

Here’s what you can do to keep your property—and your neighbours—safe:
🔥 If you burned large pits or debris piles this winter:
✔️ Revisit the site regularly
✔️ Stir the pile, soak it, then stir it again
✔️ Never assume it’s fully extinguished

🏡 A quick check today can prevent a wildfire tomorrow.
