I had the opportunity to tour Halton Region’s newest housing project at 265 Kerr Street in Oakville — an important and very timely addition to our community. This development reflects the kind of thoughtful, purpose-driven investment that helps strengthen neighbourhoods while responding to real housing needs across the region.

I was also encouraged to hear that a similar project is well underway in Milton, reinforcing that this is part of a broader, coordinated approach to building more supportive and inclusive housing options in Halton.

Projects like these matter — not just for today, but for the long-term wellbeing of our communities.

Taking a moment to look back on this meaningful afternoon.

I was honoured to be invited to share opening remarks on behalf of our community during Black History Month, at an event rooted in connection, storytelling, and care for one another. Moments like these stay with you—not just for the words spoken, but for the feeling in the room.

An afternoon filled with poetry, art, thoughtful conversation, and shared joy (and yes, unforgettable mandazi). Grateful for the opportunity to listen, learn, and stand alongside community voices doing important work.

Still riding the glow from this past () Festival of Lights ✨ and already shifting gears.

Just a few weeks later, we’re back at the table with this incredible crew, kicking off planning for this year’s Appleby Line Street Festival () 🎉

Grateful for the momentum, the community, and the people who make these events possible. New season, and lots to look forward to.

A very special afternoon spent at the ballet ✨

Seeing () Ballet Jörgen’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream as a Christmas gift for my mom felt beautifully full-circle. Growing up, she took me to the ballet when I was a little girl, back when dance was such a big part of my world.

I got to sit beside her and watch my daughter experience her very first ballet. Three generations, one stage, and a whole lot of quiet magic. 🤍

When you’ve got a New Year’s Day baby in the house, the celebrations always start early 🥂✨

As tradition goes, we kicked things off on New Year’s Eve with dinner at one of our favourite local spots, then carried the party home.

Still not quite sure how this happened, but here we are… 13 years old already. Time, slow down just a little. 💛🎉

Spent some time this week learning about the Argo on-demand transit concept and checking out one of their buses during a special visit to Burlington. 🚍

While this service is not currently operating here, the model itself is a really compelling one and absolutely worth exploring as we continue thinking about how to improve mobility, accessibility, and connectivity for our community members. Flexible, tech-enabled transit like this has the potential to fill real gaps in how people move through their day.

Curious to see where conversations like this lead. 💬

We ran away to Nassau for our anniversary and it was pure sunshine magic 🌴✨

A quick little skip away, short, sweet, and exactly what we needed.

Still feels like yesterday… except with more laugh lines and better vacations.🤍

100 years of service. 100 years of community. 💛

As we reflect on 2025, it is truly a year the Burlington Lions Club will never forget. Our centennial celebration, marking 100 years of service, was filled with powerful moments of connection, gratitude, and impact — and one of the most meaningful took place on December 18.

On that day, we proudly presented $100,000 in support of three incredible local organizations: Carpenter Hospice (), Community Living Burlington (), and Shifra Homes (), each receiving $33,333 to continue their vital work in our community.

As the incoming President of the Burlington Lions Club () and current Vice President, I am so proud to have been part of the leadership and decisions behind this historic milestone. To stand alongside our fellow Lions, community partners, and local leaders as we honoured a century of service was truly humbling.

We were honoured to celebrate with so many who continue to champion our city, including MP Karina Gould (), MP Adam van Koeverden, MPP Effie Triantafilopoulos (), MPP Natalie Pierre (), Mayor Marianne Meed Ward (.meedward), Councillor Lisa Kearns (), and Councillor Paul Sharman (.sharman.927).

For 100 years, Lions have given their time, energy, and hearts to Burlington. Our centennial year did more than honour the past — it reaffirmed our commitment to the future of this community we love.

To all Lions past, present, and future: thank you for making We Serve more than a motto. 🦁💙

Merry Christmas 🎄

This popped up from just a couple years ago at and wow… I blinked and now my kids are basically giants and I’ve officially become the shortest member of the family. How did that happen so fast?

Holding onto this season, these memories, and these little people who somehow aren’t so little anymore 🤍
