PPPSS couldn't be more grateful and proud to have been a part of .her.circle this month. We've been moved deeply by the incredible determination, community and care this movement is grounded in.

Our drop in group held over 100 new parents in its circle last year, and we are so glad it can continue to be a soft place for folks to land.

Thank you to everyone who donated in so many ways, and to everyone who held the love and grief for Jenna's circle.

If you, or someone you know is struggling during the perinatal period please reach out. We are here to walk alongside you.

Every text message, group session, and phone call reminds us of the courage of the parents who reach out to us for support during some of their hardest moments.

Our work changes lives - and we can’t do it without your support.

Monthly gifts, no matter the size, help us:

πŸ’œ Keep our telephone and text support lines open
πŸ’œ Run our weekly peer groups
πŸ’œ Train and support our staff and volunteers
πŸ’œ Ensure no parent has to face this journey alone

Even a small amount can go a long way:

πŸ’œ $25 per month gives one parent three months of group support.
πŸ’œ $50 per month is 20 hours of telephone or text support.
πŸ’œ $100 per month supports a parent through their entire postpartum journey with us.

Consider making a one‑time gift or becoming a monthly donor, and help us keep our support free of cost and accessible for all.

Your generosity helps us meet parents where they are, with compassion, understanding, and hope. Together, we can make sure every parent who reaches out gets the support they needβ€”and truly deserve.

Donate today at postpartum.org/donate – you’ll find the link in our bio.

We know times are incredibly tough. Many families are stretched thin, emotionally and financially. If giving financially isn’t possible for you right now, we see you, and we’re glad you’re here.

You can also support our work and our mission by sharing our posts, talking about your experience with perinatal mental health, and/or donating your time as a volunteer (our next info session is on Thursday March 26th – RSVP to [email protected]).

Your support matters, and you can make a difference.

Intrusive thoughts can be one of the most terrifying parts of early parenthood, and also one of the most common.

And yet, almost no one talks about them! So many new parents have never even heard the term "intrusive thoughts" before, let alone understand why they are happening.
med has some amazing resources on their website that explain intrusive thoughts, who gets them (hint: almost everyone), and why.

At PPPSS, we talk to new parents every day who have intrusive thoughts. We can confidently say that you are not alone, you are NOT a bad parent for having intrusive thoughts, and that you deserve support.

We are available by phone or text at 604-255-7999, Mon-Fri from 10am-3pm.

If that number is long distance for you, our toll-free phone line is 1-855-255-7999.

Share this post with all the new parents in your life - you never know who is struggling with very scary intrusive thoughts, and doesn't know that they are not alone.

"Anger is a universal human emotion that tends to show up when something feels unfair or unjust. During the transition to parenthood, that sense of unfairness is often grounded in the unequal distribution of unpaid labour between parents. Research consistently shows that women take on substantially more childcare and housework than their partners, even in households where both parents work. They are also more likely to multitask while caregiving, which means carrying a heavier mental load of planning, coordinating, and anticipating family needs.

These inequities don’t stay confined to just chores. They spill over into sleep and leisure time, two things that are essential for well-being."

Some parenting books/strategies suggest that if you just "do it right" your baby will sleep well, eat well, and you will thrive.

1+1=2, right?

Except, there is so much about pregnancy and postpartum that is outside of our control.

Sometimes the math just doesn't add up in real life!

For those of us who are perfectionists (πŸ™‹πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ«£) this can be especially hard to hold.

One of the hardest things to reconcile in early parenthood is that there is no one way to get it "right."

If you are trying to do everything "right" but are struggling to feel like your feet are on solid ground, know that you are not alone.

This feels hard because it is hard! And if you are struggling, you deserve support.

This quote is from one of our amazing peer supporters - when you reach out to us, you get to talk to someone who gets it, has been there, and has come out the other side.

You can connect with one of our peer support staff by calling or texting 604-255-7999.

If that number is long distance for you, you can give us a call on our toll-free line at 1-855-255-7999.
