It’s the final day of Yukon Appreciation Week!
In June, thanks to Commercial Aquatic Supplies and the Swim to Survive grant with Canucks Autism Network, the Dawson City Pool and Trʼondëk Hwëchʼin First Nation received a donation of 24 PFDs.
Another 12 PFDs were donated to a lifejacket loaner station near the George Black Ferry to encourage boaters to use a lifejacket before heading out on the Yukon River.
Wearing a PFD or lifejacket is one of the easiest and most effective ways to prevent drowning. Through these donations, communities in the Yukon can be safe on the water.
Interested in starting or replenishing a lifejacket loaner station? Affiliates and community partners can apply for free lifejackets donated by Bombardier Recreational Products.
