💜 SUDEP Action Day | October 21

Today is SUDEP Action Day, a time to increase awareness of SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy) and encourage open, informed conversations about epilepsy.

SUDEP is a rare but serious epilepsy-related risk. While it can be a difficult topic to discuss, access to accurate information matters. Those of us living with epilepsy and our families deserve opportunities to ask questions and discuss individual risks with our healthcare teams.

💜 Today, we recognize those who have lost loved ones to SUDEP, stand alongside families affected by these losses, and support continued research and education.

💜 Invisible Disabilities® Week | October 18–24

Not all medical conditions are visible, and epilepsy is one example.

Seizures aren't always obvious to others, and the effects of epilepsy can extend beyond what people see. Our experiences may involve challenges that aren't immediately apparent, whether physical, emotional, cognitive, or part of everyday life.

This Invisible Disabilities® Week, let's increase awareness and understanding of medical conditions that aren't always visible, listen to lived experiences, and remember that we cannot know everything someone may be experiencing just by looking at them.

We’re excited to partner with Maan Farms for a special purple pumpkin display in support of epilepsy awareness!

From October 14 to November 1, visit Maan Farms in Abbotsford to see the purple pumpkins and help us shine a light on epilepsy. 💜

Purple is the internationally recognized color for epilepsy awareness. Every purple pumpkin is an opportunity to spark conversation, increase understanding, and show support for those of us living with epilepsy and our families.
