Happy Tails: How donations have been used to successfully heal some of our animals! ⬇️

When Casper arrived at our shelter as a stray animal, we knew he had been on his own for some time.

But we quickly realized something else was wrong — he was limping, struggling to put weight on his back leg. A veterinary exam confirmed the diagnosis: he had a torn ACL. And without surgery, Casper's mobility and quality of life, would be severely limited.

With the support of our shelter staff and community-funded resources, Casper received the surgery he needed! It was a significant procedure, followed by weeks of careful monitoring, pain management, and rehabilitation for Casper. Our shelter staff committed themselves to his recovery and guided him through extended physiotherapy.

After a long recovery, Casper's strength began to return. Today, Casper is thriving in a safe, loving home where he can run, rest, and simply be a dog again! 💙

The care Casper received from surgery to rehabilitation was only possible because of the support of our donors. Your contributions provide not just shelter for stray animals, but a real second chance!

Tania is a calm, quiet 1-year-old cat seeking her forever family. Before arriving at our shelter, Tania was found outdoors where she had joined a local cat colony.

She is shy, sweet and she loves head rubs and will offer a purr in exchange for attention! Tania would do well in a calm household with a patient family that will help her adjust to her new home. A friendly feline would be great company for her!

Captain Rex is ready for his next adventure! 🐶

This brave, 6-year-old Karelian Bear Dog, was recently surrendered to our shelter.

Captain Rex is a true combination of brawn and brains! His family told us of a few outdoor adventures they experienced together. He loves the outdoors and has spent most of his life on a large rural property.

Captain Rex is well-behaved in the home and knows many obedience commands. He's quickly becoming comfortable and affectionate with our Animal Care Team and will be introduced to new dog friends soon.

True to his breed, Captain Rex has a protective nature and will keep a watchful eye to ensure you feel safe and loved. 💙

Meet Genevieve! 🐱

When we met her, Genevieve was very apprehensive of being handled, so we placed her in a foster home. Her foster mom did a great job of building Genevieve's confidence, and she's now ready for her FURever family!

Genevieve is friendly and affectionate, and she enjoys the company of other cats. She would do well in a calm household with a friendly feline companion. We expect it may take time for Genevieve to adjust to her new home, but with love and patience, she will become your PURRfect companion!
