Caledonia’s development with the Grand River running through it, since 1842 is linked by the Argyle St. Today’s 1927 landmark concrete 9 span bridge, the only one of its kind in length in North America, is the third reconstructed bridge in that same location. The downtown, originally on the north side of the bridge mainly, has expanded. Today’s business sector includes the downtown area and a lar

ger area on the south side. For more than 20 years, the Caledonia BIA has purchased and maintained flags, flowers, Christmas greenery, garbage and planter containers on the main streets of Caledonia. The first Saturday in June, Caledonia is home to the annual Townwide Garage Sale sponsored by the BIA since 1994. The Caledonia BIA strives to promote its vibrant community as a clean, friendly and attractive community to business, visitors and residents.

It’s been 10 years since Julie Richardson and Andrea Personnic joined forces to bring 100 Women Who Care Haldimand to life. The group gathered recently to celebrate the journey so far, which has raised a combined total of $250,000 over the last decade, supporting a wide range of community initiatives.
