Music is at the heart of Club 36 for a reason.

Even when dementia changes how someone communicates, music can still reach them. A familiar wedding song. A childhood tune. A rhythm that brings someone back into the moment. For members who are nonverbal, it can be one of the most powerful ways to participate and feel like themselves again.

That’s why we keep making space for music programs at Club 36. Sometimes the biggest shift in the room starts with a single note.

There’s something about music that stays with us.

For Bev’s husband, Doug, it brings joy, comfort, and connection to memories that still feel close.

A familiar song can bring back a smile, a feeling, or a moment from long ago... and sometimes, that kind of connection is everything.

As Bev shared so beautifully, music has a way of taking us back to a time and place we loved.

That’s exactly why our latest giveaway on StillMe is all about creating a special musical experience to share with someone you love.

Because sometimes the simplest moments can mean the most. 💙

This is Clark, one of the members at Club 36, and he loves playing the piano.

When Clark starts to play, something really special happens.

People start singing. Someone starts moving to the rhythm. A few more join in.

And suddenly it’s not just music, it’s connection. Moments like this are a reminder that music can bring people together in a way that feels simple, natural, and genuinely joyful.

If you want more of that energy, go check out the Play It Back giveaway over on StillMe.

Live music at Club 36 yesterday, and the vibes were exactly what you’d hope.

People were clapping, dancing, smiling, and finding each other in the chorus. It’s one of those reminders that music isn’t just background noise.

It can lift the mood, spark connection, and bring a moment of joy that feels simple but sticks with you.

And if you want more of that energy, go check out the Play It Back giveaway over on StillMe!

Seniors’ Week starts tomorrow, and it’s a great excuse to make a little time for the people who’ve been showing up for everyone else their whole lives.

From June 1–7, Calgary has a bunch of free and low-cost events happening through community spaces and local organizations.

If you’ve been meaning to get out with a parent, grandparent, neighbour, or older friend, this is your easy “let’s actually do it” moment.

Where to look:
• City of Calgary Seniors’ Week events
• Unison at Kerby Centre (their Seniors’ Week schedule is usually packed)
• Alberta Seniors’ Week hub for province-wide info

Small plan, big payoff: pick one event and make it meaningful moment.
