Masks don't work.
Masks work.
Masks work better if you wear 2 or 3.
Now you can take your masks off!
Wait, put them back on.
OK, take them off again, because only medical-grade masks really work.
Hey, science changed, take them off!
Now let us lecture you about weaponized misinformation.

Thank goodness there was 10 people on who didn’t go full cuckoo (4 went full cuckoo) and didn’t try and implement a vaccine passport. The logistics would be insane.

Now we can focus on what really matters….the Calgary Climate Emergency 🙄🤣🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

With the provincial government ending its Restriction Exemption Program as of midnight Wednesday, the city's bylaw expired at the same time — and administration won't explore implementing its own program in Calgary.

Unions have created a PAC with a war chest of $1.7 million dollars to get their hand picked candidates elected. To put that in perspective, that is probably more than every single candidate in every single ward COMBINED. The amounts they are spending just on Facebook and Instagram ads:
$184,317 Grand Total
$30,694 over the past 7 days
$4,384 per day
These are paid ads promoting candidates in every ward. You can view them all here https://www.facebook.com/ads/library/?active_status=all&ad_type=all&country=CA&view_all_page_id=106230847435654&search_type=page&media_type=all.

Advanced voting stations are now open across Calgary, and Calgarians have an absolutely critical choice before them.
We can either break free from the failures of the past decade and chart a bold new course for our city, or we can elect another batch of tax-addicted big spenders who keep us in the dark.
It's been an incredibly tough couple of years for families and businesses here in Calgary, and City Council's relentless focus on hiking taxes has only made it worse.
We can't afford to squander this opportunity to secure Calgary's future - we must make the right choices this time.
The third party group Lead Calgary has endorsed a list of candidates which they believe will restore fiscal responsibility and real accountability for Calgary.

Here are their choices in this election:
Mayor - Jeromy Farkas - Standing Up For Calgarians
Ward 1 Councillor - Steve Webb for Ward 1
Ward 2 Councillor - Kim Tyers for Ward 2
Ward 3 Councillor - Elect Brent Trenholm Ward 3
Ward 4 Councillor - Sean Chu Calgary
Ward 5 Councillor - Anand Chetty
Ward 6 Councillor - Sanjeev Kad Forward6
Ward 7 Councillor - Terry Wong
Ward 8 Councillor - Natalie Winkler for Calgary City Council - Ward 8
Ward 9 Councillor - Kimberly Feser
Ward 10 Councillor - Andre Chabot
Ward 11 Councillor - Rob Ward for Ward 11 - Collaborative, Fiscal Responsibility.
Ward 12 Councillor - No endorsement
Ward 13 Councillor - Dan McLean
Ward 14 Councillor - Peter Demong - Ward 14
These individuals support real change down at City Hall and will stand up for everyday Calgarians.
Now, let's talk about who NOT to vote for.
The massive public sector unions, who have raised and spent millions in this election cycle, are endorsing their own slate. If elected, these individuals will be completely beholden to the unions, will massively increase city spending, and will drive businesses out of our city.
Here are who the unions are endorsing:
Ward 1 Councillor - Sonya Sharp
Ward 2 Councillor - Jennifer Wyness
Ward 3 Councillor - Jasmine Mian
Ward 4 Councillor - DJ Kelly
Ward 5 Councillor - Raj Dhaliwal
Ward 6 Councillor - Lana Bentley
Ward 7 Councillor - Erin Waite
Ward 8 Councillor - Courtney Walcott
Ward 9 Councillor - Gian-Carlo Carra
Ward 10 Councillor - Abed Harb
Ward 11 Councillor - Kourtney Branagan
Ward 12 Councillor - Evan Spencer
Ward 13 Councillor - Jay Unsworth
Ward 14 Councillor - No endorsement
Save Calgary urges you NOT to vote for these candidates who will hike taxes and wasteful spending.
Meanwhile, there's also a third party group who thinks everything is fine at City Hall, and they want to see business as usual continue for Calgary.
Here's who Team More-Of-The-Same is supporting:
Ward 1 Councillor - Sonya Sharp
Ward 2 Councillor - Jennifer Wyness
Ward 3 Councillor - Jasmine Mian
Ward 4 Councillor - DJ Kelly
Ward 5 Councillor - Raj Dhaliwal
Ward 6 Councillor - Richard Pootmans
Ward 7 Councillor - Erin Waite
Ward 8 Councillor - No endorsement
Ward 9 Councillor - Gian-Carlo Carra
Ward 10 Councillor - No endorsement
Ward 11 Councillor - No endorsement
Ward 12 Councillor - Evan Spencer
Ward 13 Councillor - Diane Colley-Urquhart
Ward 14 Councillor - Peter Demong
The first thing you'll likely notice is just how much overlap there is between the union list and the status quo list.
That's not a coincidence.
City Council has hiked salaries, wages, pensions, and benefits for city employees to completely unsustainable levels. Both those who want more of the same on City Council and the union-backed candidates will keep on spending more and more, even though Calgarians can't afford it.
Save Calgary urges you NOT to vote for the status quo slate.
If we make the wrong choice in this election, Calgary might never recover.
Advance voting is open now, and it is absolutely critical that you, your family, your friends, your neighbours, and anybody who believes we can and must do better vote for real change.
This is our chance, don't let it slip through our fingers.
Sincerely,

Save Calgary
P.S. We'll keep up the hard work right until the very last ballot is cast. If you want to be part of real change down at City Hall, then please support Save Calgary today!

This has got to be a tough spot for all the same members of council that bowed to BLM demands for defunding police, but also voted in favour of vaccine mandates. Do they reverse course on their vaccine mandates or acknowledge to being disrespectful white supremacists?
What do you think those like Davison, Gondek, Nenshi and Carra will do?

Councillor Jyoti Gondek for Mayor wants to call an emergency meeting for the following:
1. City owned Facilities AND civic partners must require proof of vax or rapid test.
2. Muni employees who want to work from home MUST be accomodated.
3. Bring back mandatory masks.

This video https://twitter.com/JyotiGondek/status/1424042043706277888 pinned to the top of her twitter profile is from her fundraiser. No masks. No social distancing. Do you think she required her donors to be double vaccinated or have a rapid negative test?

She's also lying to you about Mayor Naheed Nenshi needing to call a Special Meeting. A special meeting can be called with a majority on council. She knows this, she is just choosing to take the more divisive route to play to her base.

Vote wisely October 18.

Just who is Jeff Davison for Mayor?
For the past four years he's been the City Councillor for Ward 6, and now he's running to be Calgary's next mayor.
He's often described as a "pro-business conservative" who can "get things done" - but is that really true?
Save Calgary has dug into Jeff Davison's time on City Council and his mayoral campaign to answer this question.
Here's what we found.

1. Jeff Davison is a tax and spender.
In looking at his voting record over the past four years, Davison has voted nearly in lockstep with other big government politicians like Councillor Jyoti Gondek and Mayor Naheed Nenshi to raise taxes, increase spending, and grow the size of government.
• He opposed reducing the City of Calgary's budget by $5 million in 2017.
• He opposed freezing the public art budget at 2018 levels.
• He opposed freezing City Council salaries in 2018.
• He opposed finding $50 million in additional savings while preserving funding for core services in 2018.
• He opposed freezing property tax increases at 0% for 2020.
• He opposed targeting a 7.5% cut for property taxes for 2021.

2. Jeff Davison supports the special interests.
In vote after vote, Davison has supported the political insiders and special interests down at City Hall rather than the hard-working people of Calgary who have to foot the bill for these costly follies.
• He voted in favour of the failed 2026 Winter Olympics bid at every opportunity.
• He voted to increase funding for public arts in 2018.
• He voted over and over to build the economically disastrous Green Line.
• He voted to reduce Calgary's residential speed limits in 2019.
• He voted to make garbage collection more expensive in 2018 and 2019.

3. Jeff Davison supports corporate welfare.
Since being elected to Council, Davison has voted repeatedly to put taxpayer dollars into the pockets of private businesses.
• He voted to put $90 million more into the Calgary Opportunity Investment Fund in 2017.
• He voted in favour $1.5 billion for four major capital projects (the BMO centre expansion, the new Arts Commons space, the multi-sport field house, and the NHL arena and events centre) in 2019.
• He voted against cutting corporate welfare spending by $50 million in 2019.
• He voted to give an additional $12.5 million in taxpayer dollars towards the NHL arena in 2021.

These are just a handful of votes, but it paints a picture of a City Councillor who is not respectful of taxpayers' money, and who has sided with the status quo time and time again.
He has also demonstrated questionable ethical behaviour during this election.

Shortly after launching his mayoral campaign, Davison's campaign was accused of attempting to circumvent rules banning corporate and union contributions to election candidates.

A third-party group, Calgary Tomorrow, promoted a fundraising event to corporate donors. This invite was then shared by the Davison campaign.

Rather than apologizing for the situation, Davison blamed a campaign volunteer for the mistake.

This doesn't inspire a lot of confidence that transparency and accountability are going to improve dramatically if Jeff Davison becomes Calgary's next mayor.

But what about the reputation that Jeff Davison has for being a "conservative" option for mayor?

That also seems pretty doubtful.

As you may know, former Ward 5 City Councillor George Chahal has announced he's not seeking re-election to City Council because he's now the Trudeau Liberal candidate in Calgary-Skyview.
In attendance at Chahal's campaign launch on Sunday were prominent Liberals from across Calgary - and also mayoral candidate Jeff Davison and his campaign advisor, outgoing Ward 1 City Councillor Ward Sutherland.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words.

With Mayor Nenshi not running for re-election in October, it's an open race to see who will replace him as Mayor of Calgary.

If you didn't like Nenshi's leadership over the past decade, do you really think that Jeff Davison represents real change?
Based on the above, we don't think so.

If you want to see fiscal responsibility and real accountability down at Calgary City Hall, don't vote for Jeff Davison for Mayor.

Sincerely,

Save Calgary
