PSA for T4T volunteers...

Hello,

Please share the following with your networks:

SAVE THE DATE!

Trails 4 Tomorrow (T4T) is planning trail maintenance days on July 15 and 16 on the Margaret lake loop in the Ghost Public Land Use Zone. Please note, this project is pending final approval from Alberta Forestry, Parks, and Tourism (AFPT). AFPT has requested a large number of holes holding water be drained so that other trail projects can take place.

Due to the amount of work to be done, we are planning a 2 day event and will be looking for 30-40 vehicles to join. Both clubs and individuals are welcome to help. Please email [email protected] to give your individual or group support.

T4T will be planning to camp out the night of the 15th. More details to come on meeting location and camping spot. We hope to see you there!

Thank you,
Kerri Angus

Good Morning!
We're looking for a couple volunteers for the 3rd Annual Recreational Stewardship Fair and we need your help!

What is a Recreational Stewardship Fair?
They are an outdoor public event that gives people who use the backcountry a chance to learn some basic principles, skills, and interesting facts about our backcountry. We believe that information is the best way to help conserve our trails.

What we need:
Trails 4 Tomorrow will support getting us all the information to get to the event. They need 1-2 clubs per event to sign up to have a booth and show the public how 4 wheel drive users are stewards of the land. We need you to talk about things like how to air down your tires and why, why use a tree saver, or packing out what you brought in (just to name a few!).

This is the 4WD community’s chance to pass on information that could be useful to new people using the trails, educate the general public on how awesome 4WD folks are, and make a real impact in conserving and improving our trail systems. Feedback from the clubs that participated last year were that the Fairs were a fun and exciting way to help people understand the 4WD community.

This year we're looking to attend the McLean Creek event:
Location: Fisher East Staging Area in McLean PLUZ
Date: August 12, 2023
Time 10am - 3pm

Please post up if you are interested.

Thanks!

Now that we can mostly say the pandemic is in the rear view mirror; the Calgary Jeep Association is pleased to one again announce our 11th Annual Off-Road 101 Course!

This is a one day, family friendly course that is open to anyone and will introduce participants to the basic skills that are necessary during an Off-Road adventure, as well as safe and environmentally friendly practices while on the trail.

Rough outline of the day:

The course will take place at the Mclean Creek off highway land use area. We will be meeting at the Mclean Creek store from 7:30am to 8:30am. At 9:00am we'll start with an introduction to off-roading instruction, along with various demonstrations to get you acquainted with your jeeps capabilities. Around noon we'll have a short lunch break (you’re responsible to bring your own lunch as well as addition food and drinks the rest of the day). Then we'll head out for a trail ride with CJA members providing instruction and support throughout the day. Please note that this is an off-roading activity and there is always the possibility that damage and scratches can occur to any vehicle. The trail guides will do their best to prevent/minimize any potential damage to the vehicles, but the potential is always there.

The number of registrants will be limited to 20.

Registration is on a first come, first serve basis.
