Summer is here at last! Amidst all the fun that comes with this season, we want to make sure everyone is safe and takes the necessary precautions. For people living with epilepsy dehydration, lack of sleep, missed medications, and excessive heat may increase the risk of a seizure, making self-care even more important.
Small actions such as staying hydrated, using different forms of sun protection, getting consistent sleep, and staying on top of medications can all help ensure a fun summer without a hitch. Don’t forget that bug spray, those critters are in abundance this time around.
Be kind to yourself, listen to your body, and make sure to take advantage of all the fun activities of the season. Whether you’re living with epilepsy or supporting someone who is, a little preparation goes a long way.
Wishing our community a healthy and cool summer. If you would like to learn more about our programs email us at [email protected]
