Yes. No. Kind of?
Recycling changed across Ontario on January 1st – but your routine didn’t change much.
The big difference?
- It’s now run by Circular Materials, province-wide
- Locally collected by Emterra
- Paid for by producers (not you!)
So if you were worried… you already survived the change!

NOTICE OF SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
Please be advised that there will be Special Meeting of Council on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2026 at 4:30 pm in the Council Chambers at 280 Main Street North, Callander.

Council will adjourn into Closed Session under Section 239 of the Municipal Act, pertaining to Subsection (2)(d) – labour relations or employee negotiations relating to the Senior Municipal Director (Chief Municipal Manager) and Municipal Clerk-Treasurer.

FOG—Fats, Oils & Grease—is one of the leading causes of pipe blockages. Butter, dressings, meat fat, and sauces all cling to pipes. Keep FOG out of drains!

Your feedback will help us better understand accessibility barriers in Callander and identify ways to improve municipal spaces, services, programs, and information for everyone.

Whether you have experienced accessibility challenges yourself, support someone who has, or simply want to share your perspective, your input is important.

Do you love spending time outside, community pride, and making Callander shine? 🌿✨
We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our Beautification Sub-Committee (of the Placemaking Advisory Committee)—a hands-on group dedicated to enhancing and maintaining the beauty of our public spaces!

🌷 What We Do
The Beautification Sub-Committee is the action team behind many of Callander’s visual improvements. As a member, you’ll help:
• Plant and maintain seasonal flowers 🌸
• Decorate the municipality for holidays and special occasions 🎉
• Support ongoing community beautification projects 🌳
• Collaborate with municipal staff and the Placemaking Advisory Committee (PAC) to bring ideas to life
Whether you have a green thumb or just enjoy being outdoors and contributing to your community, we welcome you!
