Residents who do not yet have a kitchen organics pail to collect food scraps for their green bins are encouraged to visit the Town Office to pick up a free pail, while supplies last.

“We were excited to add organics collection to the Town’s waste management services earlier this year,” said Councillor Don Faulkner, the Town’s representative on the Leduc & District Waste Management Commission. “The kitchen organics pail was introduced to allow residents to separate food scraps from their regular household waste. When full, the pails can be emptied into their green organics bins.”

“Organics collection in Calmar benefits everyone,” said Councillor Danielle Bourdin . “Residents are helping to divert organic waste from the landfill, which helps to make our town more sustainable and reduce waste management costs.”
