We would like to wish, Fire Chief, Wayne Johnstone a very Happy 71st Birthday today!
Last evening, during training, we caught Chief off guard. The members managed to gather in the banquet hall without detection and surprise him.
This year is quite remarkable, with Wayne actively working to complete his 50th year of fire service and serving in his 20th year as active fire chief.
The picture displayed on the cake was taken by the late Stuart Johnstone (Wayne’s Father) who served 65 years. At the time of the article when the photo was used Wayne's dad, said he only lasted a year in the junior firefighters club, but that's okay. He eventually went on and is now the Deputy Chief.
This photo on the cake goes right back to where it all started. Young Wayne, seen as one of the very first junior firefighters of the Waterville-Grafton-Cambridge junior firemen’s club.
