Campbellford Legion proudly recognizes Women’s History Month by honouring the generations of women whose service, sacrifice, courage, and dedication have helped shape Canada’s military history.

We recognize the women who served in the Canadian Armed Forces in years past, and those who continue to stand on guard within the ranks of Canada’s military today. From Sailors on the high seas to battlefield soldiers to aviators in our skies and the countless trades and occupations that keep the Canadian Armed Forces moving, their contributions have been immeasurable.

We also remember that service and sacrifice have never belonged only to those in uniform. Throughout Canada’s history, mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, and families have watched loved ones leave for war, often carrying tremendous responsibility, uncertainty, and hardship at home.

During the great conflicts of the last century, Canadian women stepped forward in extraordinary numbers. They worked in factories, farms, hospitals, offices, transportation, communications, and countless other essential roles, keeping communities and industries operating while supporting Canada’s war effort.

And today, that legacy continues with the next generation. Young women serving in Canada’s Cadet programs demonstrate leadership, discipline, service, and citizenship, setting an example for their peers and carrying forward a proud tradition.

From the women who served generations ago to those serving Canada today — from soldiers deployed to all corners of the world, to submariners beneath the waves, to pilots in the skies — Campbellford Legion is eternally grateful for your service, your sacrifice, and your devotion to our country.

During Women’s History Month and as always, we honour you, we remember those who came before you, and we thank you for continuing to stand on guard for Canada.

Through the support of our members, volunteers and community, the Campbellford Legion is proud to support causes close to home — including the local food bank, Campbellford Memorial Hospital, Campbellford Cadets, youth hockey and baseball, the Christmas Toy Drive, youth organizations, and our many community and charitable partners.

🎯 HAVE AN IDEA FOR A CLUB, LEAGUE OR GROUP?

Campbellford Legion is looking for people who may be interested in starting a new club, league, regular activity, or community group at the Legion.
Cards, board games, darts, pool, snooker — or maybe you have a completely different idea.

Large or small, we’d love to hear it. Let us know how the Campbellford Legion might be the right spot for you. We may have the facility, space, and schedule that works perfectly for your group.

There are opportunities for both daytime and evening activities, and we welcome ideas from Legion members and the wider community.

We’d even consider ideas such as youth darts or youth pool, provided appropriate parental supervision and any required rules, safety measures, and licensing requirements are in place.

Have a proposal? Send us a short outline of what you’d like to start, when you’d like to run it, and what kind of space or setup you may need.

Hear ye, hear ye, hunters, dancers, and good folks of Campbellford and beyond!

Saddle up and make tracks for Campbellford Legion, Branch 103 for the Annual Deer Hunters Ball on Saturday, November 21st, from 8 PM until midnight. Free.

The Buck and Doe Band — Rick & Ed, Pony & Rob — will be striking up the tunes, so polish your boots, grab your favourite dance partner, and prepare to kick up some dust. Everyone is welcome, whether you’ve been roaming the deer woods or simply fancy a lively night at the Legion.

There’ll be prizes fit for the finest hunters on the frontier, including Big Buck North of 7, Big Buck South of 7, and a Gun Hunt Only Prize, plus Spot Dances throughout the evening. Hunters entering a buck for the prizes are reminded to bring along their weight receipt.

So don’t be a tenderfoot and miss the shindig. Mosey on down to the Campbellford Legion for an evening of music, dancing, friendly competition, and good old-fashioned company.

Campbellford Legion joins Canadians across the country in recognizing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Today, on September 30, we take time to reflect on the painful legacy of the residential school system, to remember the children who never returned home, and to acknowledge the lasting impact these experiences have had on Indigenous families and communities across Canada, including here in our own region.

We also honour the service and sacrifices of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Warriors and Veterans, whose contributions to Canada’s military history are an important part of our shared story.

Truth and Reconciliation is not only about remembering the past. It is also about listening, learning, and supporting meaningful steps toward understanding, respect, and reconciliation.

To our Indigenous Veterans and their families: your service, sacrifice, and contributions to Canada are deeply respected. If you are looking for information about benefits, programs, or support that may be available to you, Veterans Affairs Canada has an Indigenous Guide to Services designed to help you find the assistance you deserve.

If you are unsure where to begin, please know that you do not have to figure it out alone. The Campbellford Legion encourages you to reach out, ask questions, and make use of the services that are there to support you and your family.
