Father’s Day weekend is here!

Whether Dad wants a relaxing day, a car show, a good meal, or just five minutes without anyone asking him to fix something, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the weekend across Camrose County.

This weekend also includes National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21, a time to recognize and celebrate the cultures, traditions, languages, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.

P.S. If you’re wondering where summer has been hiding, the official start is June 21!😄

⚠️ Camrose RCMP RAVE Alert - Passing School Buses

Camrose RCMP has received close to 20 complaints in the last 3 months of drivers passing school buses while they were dropping off students. Most of these complaints occurred along primary and secondary highways in the county with drivers who approached the bus from the oncoming direction. This is against the law - regardless of the direction of the bus.

We are urging drivers to exercise patience and stay informed on the proper procedure to follow when encountering a school bus, namely:

👉 When a school bus is stopped with flashing red lights and stop sign operating, drivers from both directions are required to stop. You cannot proceed until the lights are off and it is safe and permitted to do so.

👉 When you encounter a school bus with flashing amber lights, the bus is preparing to stop – you must slow down and only pass if it is safe and permitted to do so.

The penalty for passing a school bus varies between $486 and $567. With the cooperation of the Battle River School Division, we have been issuing tickets in the mail to the registered owners of the offending vehicles.

Stay safe, stay patient, and keep our youths in mind!

What would your operation look like without access to veterinary services?

A new survey from the is gathering input from Alberta producers to help demonstrate the value of veterinary services and support advocacy efforts to include veterinarians and animal health technicians in the Canada Student Loan Forgiveness Program.

If you're a farmer or rancher, your feedback is important.

📅 Survey closes June 30, 2026.

What makes Camrose County so great?

It's the people! The neighbours who show up for one another, the volunteers who give their time, and the community spirit that brings us together.

The Bashaw 200 Club Long Table Dinner was a great reminder of that. Hundreds of people gathered to support their community and share stories.

Community isn't just something we talk about here- it's something we live everyday.

Camrose County Economic Development was pleased to participate in AfriCanada Expo 2026 in Edmonton and host an Economic Discovery Tour for international delegates last week.

The Expo brought together business, government, and community leaders from Canada, Africa, and India to explore opportunities for trade, investment, and collaboration. Following the event, delegates visited Camrose County to learn more about our region's strengths.

We would like to thank Made In Africa Expo Canada and the Alberta-India Chamber of Commerce for creating this valuable opportunity to build connections and showcase the opportunities available in Alberta. A special thank you to the Camrose County Seed Cleaning Plant, Vermeer's Dairy Ltd, Cherry Lane B & B and Cafe, and MLA Jackie Lovely for welcoming our guests.

Camrose County maintains more than 𝟖,𝟎𝟎𝟎 culverts across our road network. These hidden pieces of infrastructure move water and help protect the roads residents rely on every day.

Last week the failure of an existing culvert on 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝟏𝟖𝟒 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝟒𝟑𝟒 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝟒𝟑𝟓𝐀 required a full replacement after inspections revealed sections of the 32-metre-long culvert had collapsed and water was backing up against the road embankment.

Crews excavated and removed the failed culvert and installed a new replacement. Due to the depth of the installation, significant excavation was required, and crews worked through the weekend to keep the project moving.

𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝟏𝟖𝟒 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝟒𝟑𝟒 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝟒𝟑𝟓𝐀 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂.

Projects like this are a reminder that maintaining rural infrastructure isn't just about the road surface. Much of the work happens underground, keeping communities connected and supporting the movement of people, goods and services across rural Alberta. Maintaining these aging assets requires ongoing investment, planning and partnership.

Through the Rural Municipalities of Alberta’s Closing the Gap campaign, rural municipalities are advocating for sustainable infrastructure funding.
