The school bells will be ringing tomorrow morning!! The kids are heading back to school. Most kids are pretty excited to see their friends. For some this is their first year.
As drivers heading to work and or daily routines, please allow a little extra time for the starting and stopping of school busses. The goodbye hugs and first day photos.
It is unsafe and illegal to pass a stopped school bus.
Parents, this is a great time to remind your children how to behave near the road and how to safely cross the street and getting on and off the bus.
To all the children, have a safe and wonderful school year.

🚒 Your 50/50 support is helping keep our firefighters safe! 🥾👩‍🚒🚒

A huge thank you to our community for the ongoing support of the New Germany Fire Department Nova Scotia Firefighters 50-50! Your support makes a real difference, and we’re excited to share one of the ways those funds are being put to work.

Recently, our Department purchased leather steel-toe boots for our members. The health and safety of our members is incredibly important to us, and these boots provide our volunteers with proper footwear outside of their bunker gear for a variety of activities, including maintenance nights, working on our trucks and equipment, wildland fires, and so much more.

Our members give their time to serve our community (all on a volunteer basis) and we want to make sure they have the equipment they need to do that safely.

A special thank you to Cumings' Fire & Safety Equipment Ltd in Hebbville for their great assistance and pricing in helping us outfit our members.

And, of course, thank you to YOU, our community, for continuing to support the 50/50! Every ticket purchased helps us invest back into our Department, our members, and ultimately, the community we serve.
