The CFFA and our friends at Kawartha Dairy know that Santa loves his milk, and how much he enjoys the season of giving!

Our thoughts and prayers are with our fellow brothers
Wishing them all a speedy and healthy recovery

Tonight, Uxbridge came far too close to a tragedy.

While responding to a collision at Wagg Road near Highway 47, three of our firefighters were struck by an SUV. They are awake and alert, but their injuries are serious, and all three have been rushed to a Toronto trauma centre. A driver from the original collision has also been transported to hospital in stable condition.

I am so extremely grateful that we are not adding any new names to our firefighter memorial tonight.

Thank you to the DRPS, our Uxbridge Fire team, Ornge, Durham EMS, and every responder working in these extremely hazardous conditions.

Regional and Uxbridge snow removal crews are out on the roads and are doing their best to have our roads ready for the morning commute. The weather is expected to get worse before it gets better, and road conditions remain extremely dangerous.

Please avoid travel unless absolutely necessary. Stay safe, Uxbridge.

Carbon Monoxide alarm activations are a real emergency. They could signal a life-threatening situation in your home.

Don’t be sorry you called. If you suspect CO in your home, get everyone outside immediately and call 9-1-1.

👏Congratulations👏

We had a special visit from Brock Township Fire Department Chief Harrison, Mike Jubb-Mayor-Township of Brock, and Ward 1 Councillor Frank to present awards to some of our firefighters yesterday.

Congratulations to Firefighter Campbell on an incredible federal recognition of 50 years of service!

District Chief O’Grady, Captain Keeler and Captain Richard were congratulated with provincial recognition for 25 years of service!

Firefighters Brownridge and Gray, Captain Casselman, and Acting Captain Thompson were also presented with certifications for recently completed courses as well.

We’re proud to have so many dedicated firefighters devoting their time to our community.

We received a very thoughtful donation from Ross Doble Inc. this week; hydration!
Proper hydration is crucial to helping us carry out our duties on calls and during training, and we’re very appreciative of this gesture!

Sunday (September 14) is Firefighters’ National Memorial Day—a day that commemorates the courage and sacrifice of firefighters who have fallen in the line of duty. We recognize this day annually on the second Sunday in September.

In honour of Firefighters’ National Memorial Day, the Flag at the Brock municipal office will fly at half-mast throughout the weekend.

Please join us in honouring those who willingly, and without hesitation, put their lives on the line for the safety of our communities.
