💦Mission Accomplished💦

The Brock Township Fire Department has done it again!

With great teamwork from all three stations and a special thank you to our friends at the Township of Uxbridge Fire Department Uxbridge Firefighters Association for joining us, we have achieved the Commercial Accreditation of the Superior Tanker Shuttle from the Fire Underwriters Survey, flowing over 2,000 litres of water per minute in a rural area.

Thank you for your alertness and patience in the Cannington area today, the exercise has now concluded.

⚠️🚒 Don’t Be Alarmed! 🚒⚠️

On Saturday, September 26th, Brock Township Fire Department will be conducting a live exercise called the Superior Tanker Shuttle in the Cannington area.

Please be aware of fire tankers actively shuttling water from Cannington using emergency lights and intermittent sirens, as required, on Saturday morning.

This exercise is in cooperation with the Fire Underwriters Survey, and works to ensure that the fire department supplies a continuous flow of water to its rural areas that are not serviced by fire hydrants.
The results are used by the Fire Underwriters Survey to publish fire insurance grades for the Insurance Bureau of Canada.

Any inquiries about this exercise can be directed to the office of the Township of Brock Fire Chief.

This evening, our members proudly took to River Street in Sunderland with fellow members of the Brock Township Fire Department and CUPE 1764 Durham Region Paramedics to honour the 343 firefighters, 71 law enforcement officers, and 8 EMTs/paramedics that lost their lives on September 11th 2001.

Firefighters wore full turnout gear, breathing apparatus, carried tools & hoses, and walked from the fire station to highway 12 and back; the distance representing the 2,200 steps that firefighters would have climbed up the World Trade Centre this day 25 years ago.

We will never forget.
