Back to School Safety

As students head back to the classroom, the Blood Tribe Police Service is reminding everyone to help make the return to school a safe one.

Whether you’re driving, walking, biking, riding the bus or dropping students off, please stay alert and watch for increased activity around schools and bus stops.

Drivers are reminded to slow down, obey school-zone signs, stop for school buses when required and keep distractions—especially phones—away while behind the wheel.

Students are encouraged to use sidewalks and crosswalks, look both ways before crossing, stay visible to drivers and keep a safe distance from the road while waiting for the bus.

A safe school year starts with all of us doing our part.

Happy National Dog Day to two very important members of the Blood Tribe Police Service — Fergus and Grizzly!

Today we’re celebrating our four legged partners and the important role they play in supporting our officers and serving our community.

Fergus and Grizzly bring dedication, energy, and plenty of personality to BTPS. Thank you to our K9 partners and their handlers for everything they do.

Registration is still open for the Policing the Greens BTPS Golf Fundraiser!

Join us on September 4, 2026, at Paradise Canyon Golf Resort for a great day of golf, prizes and community support. All proceeds will go to the Kainai Food Bank.

Registration begins at 8 a.m., with tee-off at 9 a.m.

The entry fee is $150 per person or $600 per four-player team. Lunch and dinner are included.

Players will have opportunities to win:

• A new TaylorMade driver for Longest Drive
• A TaylorMade Spider putter for Longest Putt
• A Wingman HD GPS speaker for Closest to the Pin
• Door prizes and gift cards

The deadline to enter is August 25, 2026. Space is limited to 36 teams.

Our brand new truck joined the Cardston Parade on August 8, 2026, and we were proud to have it out representing BTPS and the Blood Tribe community and we have exciting news coming soon about this brand new unit.

The Blood Tribe Police Service extends our deepest condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of the two Correctional Service Canada officers who tragically lost their lives in the line of duty during an inmate transfer in Edmonton.

We also extend our heartfelt sympathies to the family and loved ones of the third individual who lost their life in this tragic incident. Our thoughts are with all those grieving and everyone affected by this profound loss.

We also recognize the impact this tragedy has had on the Correctional Service Canada family and all those affected by this heartbreaking incident.

We honour the dedication, professionalism, and sacrifice of these officers, whose service to Canadians will not be forgotten.
