Good morning Carleton Place.

Just a quick note to say thank you to the folks who organized Rock the Pantry. Raising 45k+ for the Lanark County Food Bank-The Hunger Stop on Saturday. A fun event full of music, food and drink in support of the community. A testament to what can happen when a grassroots group decides to put in some work and the community supports them.

Congrats and have a great day.

A great program helping Lanark County residents become more energy efficient, allowing them to save money.

Good morning CP!

Our community is invited to a public discussion on homelessness and public safety this coming Monday at 6pm. Members of Lanark County Social Services, the OPP and Lanark County Mental will take part in a panel discussion. They will also answer questions from the public to assist in forming a better understanding of roles and responsibilities, policies and rights, as well as the state of homelessness in the province.

This is meant to be an evening of education and open respectful discussion. We hope to see you there.

See below for details and have a wonderful day.
⬇️⬇️

Join us for a conversation about homelessness and the systems connected to it on Monday, Aug. 31 at 6 p.m. at the Carleton Place Arena (upstairs).

OrgCode Consulting Inc. President and CEO Iain De Jong will provide an interactive virtual presentation followed by an in-person panel discussion with local service providers. This is a great opportunity to learn about homelessness in our communities, the challenges and limitations, and services provided.

Hope to see you there!

Good morning Carleton Place.

I am immensely proud to have been acclaimed as Mayor for the next 4 years. Friday afternoon came and went with no one putting their name up against Deputy Mayor Tennant or myself, so you won’t be seeing my signs and flyers out this time round. Now, there is still an election happening as our 5 council seats have 11 candidates looking to fill them, including our 5 current council members who I am proud to have worked with these past 4 years. I thank everyone who has stepped up and is looking to help our town move forward. It’s not an easy job and it takes courage to put yourself out there.

As for myself, I am going to keep doing what I have been doing. There is still work to be done. I will remain available, and open to any and all conversation. I will encourage respectful interactions with our citizens, staff, and fellow council members. I will continue learning from these groups and then share that knowledge with everyone. A team doesn’t succeed due to a single person. That success depends on all involved and as Mayor, I do my best to involve everyone (who wants to be) in our discussions. In doing so I believe Carleton Place is now, and will continue to be, a wonderful place to live, work and play.

All the best and I look forward to making Carleton Place the best it can be with all your help. Have a great day!
