Toby Randell, Mayor of Carleton Place

10/23/2026

It is such an honour to receive the first poppy of the year. It makes my heart swell each time it happens. As the son of a veteran, it definitely has a special meaning to me.

In a happy change of venue due to council chambers being used as a polling station, we took our photo at the Cenotaph.
I believe this is where it should be held moving forward, or at least it will be for my time in the Mayor’s seat.

Please wear a poppy to honour our veterans and those who serve us honourably today!

Our November 2026 calendar is out now!!

We’re so excited to introduce more new programs this month, including Q Connect, Boys Night and Bubbles & Bingo!

Our Leaders in Training program is back with a very special Christmas edition. It is a great way for students to earn up to 18 volunteer hours, and participate in the Santa Clause parade!

Come meet some of our staff members and check out the centre at our open house on November 12th! All are welcome to drop by, play some ping pong, and eat snacks!

Good morning Carleton Place.

Where it all started 8 yrs ago. It’s been one hell of a ride. I have met so many great people and learned even more during my time on council. It happened because a bunch of people believed in me and cast a ballot. Although you aren’t voting for me this election, there is still 5 positions to fill and time left to have your say!

Thank you for your trust and I look forward to serving our town for the next 4 years, as your Mayor, while we all move forward together.

Have a great day!

We are very lucky to have so many dedicated and caring childcare workers and ece’s working at our daycares. Lanark County and Carleton Place residents, place their trust in our staff daily and it’s a responsibility they do not take lightly.

Give a shout out to our staff if you see them and show your appreciation for the efforts they put forth every day for our children!

Have a great afternoon.
