Carman & Community Chamber of Commerce The Carman and Community Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization, incorporated on July 10, 1969. Membership fees are utilized towards operation

Our membership comprises of over 120 businesses and organizations in Carman and the surrounding area. OUR OBJECTIVES:

to promote through its members, the progress and development of Carman and surrounding area, in order to make them better places in which we live, work, and play,

to unite the local chamber members in order to pursue matters of common interest,

to increase the efficiency of chamber members and to promote mutual cooperation between the Manitoba Chamber of Commerce and ourselves,

to promote the agricultural, civic, commercial, industrial, and other general interests of the Carman region,

to develop and present informed views and opinions, on behalf of chamber members to any and all appropriate situations,

to maintain and extend a vigorous and integrated chamber of commerce movement. In an evolving society, we strive to service our membership.

The Carman & Community Chamber of Commerce would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who attended last night’s Municipal Election Forum for the Town of Carman and RM of Dufferin!

A special thank you to all of the candidates who participated, shared their ideas, and spoke about their vision and priorities for our communities.
We appreciate your willingness to step forward and serve!

It was wonderful to see such a strong turnout and so many residents taking an interest in the future of our communities.

Election Day is Wednesday, October 28th! We encourage all eligible voters to take the time to learn about the candidates, consider the issues that matter most to them, and make an informed decision at the polls.

Nominations are NOW OPEN for the 2026 Carman & Community Business Awards in four categories:

• Outstanding Business of the Year – An established business operating for 3+ years that demonstrates excellence, growth and community commitment.

• New Business of the Year – A business operating for 1–3 years that is making its mark through creativity, growth and great service.

• Community Builder Award – An individual whose leadership, dedication and volunteerism make our community stronger.

• Social Media Excellence Award – A business or organization doing an outstanding job connecting, engaging and showcasing their brand online.

The Carman & Community Chamber of Commerce Business Awards celebrate the businesses, organizations and individuals whose hard work, leadership and community spirit make a difference throughout Carman and the surrounding area.

We invite you to nominate a deserving business, organization or community member in one of the following categories:

Outstanding Business of the Year

This award recognizes an established business that has been operating for three years or more and consistently demonstrates excellence in the way it does business. The recipient shows a commitment to exceptional customer service, quality, innovation and continued growth while making a positive contribution to our community.

New Business of the Year

Celebrating one of our community’s rising businesses! This award recognizes a business that has been operating for more than one year but less than three years and has demonstrated strong entrepreneurial spirit, creativity and growth. The recipient is building a positive reputation through innovation, customer service, marketing and a commitment to doing business with integrity.

Community Builder Award

Great communities are built by people who step up and get involved. This award recognizes an individual whose leadership, dedication and volunteerism have made a meaningful and lasting impact in Carman and the surrounding area. The recipient consistently gives their time and talents to strengthen our community and make it a better place for others.

This award recognizes a business or organization that knows how to make an impact online. Through creative content, authentic engagement and effective communication, the recipient uses social media to build awareness, connect with their audience and positively showcase their business, organization and community.

The planning is done, the pirates are ready, and tomorrow we take over Ryall Park, downtown Carman and the Boyne River for a full day of World Rivers Day fun!

Here’s your final rundown for Saturday, September 12:

- River Poker Derby – Registration opens at 11 AM | Complete by 3 PM | $10/hand
- Landlubbers’ Poker Derby – 12–3 PM | $10/hand
- Wheels Car Show – 12–4 PM
- FREE Kids Treasure Hunt – 12–3 PM
- Young Makers & Community Market – 12–3 PM
- Face Painting – 12–2 PM
- Pirate Ship Bouncy Castle – 1–4 PM

WORLD RIVERS DAY — RIVER POKER DERBY!

Ready to take your World Rivers Day adventure onto the Boyne River? Grab your kayak or canoe and take part in the River Poker Derby this Saturday, September 12!

Registration opens at 11:00 AM, but there’s NO RUSH to get on the river!
Paddlers will have until 3:00 PM to complete the derby, so come down when it works for you, enjoy the paddle and make your way through the poker stops at your own pace.

And there are some pretty great prizes up for grabs!

GRAND PRIZE — A KAYAK!

🏴‍☠️ LANDLUBBERS’ POKER DERBY — ARE YE FEELING LUCKY? 🃏

Prefer to keep yer feet on dry land? Then the World Rivers Day Landlubbers’ Poker Derby is the adventure for you!

On Saturday, September 12, grab your crew and head to the Carman & Community Chamber of Commerce tent at Ryall Park to register.
From there, you’ll receive your Poker Record, rules and a treasure map that will send you off to visit participating businesses around Carman.

But we’re not revealing the stops just yet… you’ll have to wait until Derby Day to get yer hands on the map!

At each stop, you’ll complete a fun challenge before drawing a card. Your card will be recorded on your Poker Record, then it’s off to the next destination. Complete all the stops, build your poker hand and return your record to the Chamber tent.

- $10 per hand
- Register at the Chamber Tent – NE corner of Ryall Park
- Follow the treasure map to all the secret stops
- Complete a challenge at each location
- Collect your poker hand along the way
- 12:00–3:00 PM

And there’s some mighty fine treasure on the line…

The best poker hand wins a basket packed with goodies from ALL of our participating local merchants — valued at OVER $350!

This is a great chance to have some fun, discover local businesses and maybe sail home with a pretty impressive haul of treasure!

🏴‍☠️ No boat required for this adventure — just $10, a little luck and yer best poker face!
