The thank you and until next year post is always so bittersweet. We plan, prep, hustle and then all of a sudden p**f 🪄 you find yourself sitting in the same spot you were last week - but with dramatically less on your plate.
So all that said - thank you for coming out!
Every year we are testing new outcomes for the Fall Fair. Sometimes they land as intended and sometimes they flop. But one thing remains consistent - we are always learning.
We receive our fair share of criticism, hundreds of “you know what you should do’s” and some praise along the way.
It’s pretty cool to walk through a packed fairground, seeing old friends catching up, watching lawnmower racing, screaming on rides, or dancing along to music. Connecting over animals and putting their own two cents on who should have won what prize in exhibitions. And that warm feeling comes, like all of it was for this - and at times - us as volunteers - feel tired, worn out, burnt out, sore feet, backs and hands. But that experience of seeing joy - that my friends is what makes us gluttons for punishment.
So without further ado - let’s shout to all the people that make the Fair what it is!
