STRYCHNINE UPDATE: MAY 28, 2026

The County placed an order for 16 cases of 2% liquid strychnine, or as much product as could be secured, after initially being advised municipalities may only receive approximately 5–6 cases through the spring allocation.

The distributor, Agromax, has advised municipalities that manufacturing and distribution have been delayed due to supply chain issues involving materials required for production.

At this time:
• Agromax is hopeful the remaining materials will arrive next week so production and distribution can begin shortly thereafter
• Additional updates on timing are expected next week

Agromax has also advised that smaller municipal orders are expected to be filled in full during the first production run. Larger orders are anticipated to receive partial shipments initially, with remaining quantities expected through future production runs.

Orders for the spring application window are still being accepted. Producers who have placed orders will be notified once product has been received and is available for pickup.

Product can be applied until June 15 under the spring application window.

We appreciate everyone’s patience as the Province, manufacturer, and distributors continue working through supply and production challenges.

FALL PLANNING INPUT REQUEST

To assist with planning and future allocations to landowners who already have their certificates, producers are asked to provide an estimate of the amount of product they may require for the July 15 – September 1 application window.

Complete the following to add your name to the submission of interest. However, product availability is not guaranteed.
