Clearview Elementary/Junior Secondary

Clearview Elementary/Junior Secondary "Respect Yourself, Respect Others and Respect the Community" John. The economy of the area is based mainly on farming, the gas/oil industry, and some logging.

Clearview is a K-9 rural school located 30 minutes northeast (close to the Alberta border) from the thriving community of Fort St. The school is nestled on top of a hill that provides a clear view of the rolling hills and vast sky. Of our student population of 102 students, twelve percent are First Nations students. Clearview has a staffing compliment of 8 teachers and 5 support staff(secretary, e

ducation assistants, aboriginal support worker), as well a principal, and part time librarian/technologist and Learning Assistance teacher. Our school enjoys itinerant access to a range of services supporting areas such as Inclusion ESL, Counseling and Aboriginal Counseling. Some themes that characterize our school are a commitment to developing numeracy and literacy skills, collaborative planning, and developing technological proficiency in our students. We have an active Parent Advisory Committee, a School Planning Council and a supportive parent community. Three of the areas our school will be focusing on are developing the reading, writing and math skills of our students. Some exciting dimensions of our school make it a wonderful place to work. We have an indoor ice arena located right next to our school that is used frequently in the fall, winter and spring by both the school and community. We have excellent access to computer technology as well as professional development support for teachers at the school and district levels. Teacher housing is available for a low monthly rent. SD60 Peace River North and Clearview Elementary/ Junior Secondary are pleased to allow commenting on our Facebook posts which are mostly auto-generated from our website at http://www.clearview.prn.bc.ca/ . We appreciate comments and questions which are respectful of all of our learning community members. Those that are deemed to be disrespectful will be removed. We'd ask that you not use commenting or recommendations to discuss specific incidents with students/staff as it is public. You can private message us and we will forward it along to be addressed by the appropriate staff. We will also attempt to answer any questions to the best of our ability as quickly as possible.

Mrs. Newsham’s Grade 8/9 students each painted a rock, turning it into a poppy! On Monday, they took a bus to the Cecil Lake Cemetery to honour our veterans by leaving their creations. Lest we forget 🇨🇦
