Le 11 mars 2026 marque le troisième anniversaire de la Convention de Saint-Jacques, traité qui encadre aujourd’hui la coopération au sein de l’Union coopérative micronationale laurentienne.

Adoptée en 2023 par plusieurs États micronationaux de l’espace laurentien, la Convention de Saint-Jacques a établi un cadre permettant d’organiser un dialogue régulier entre entités désireuses de développer des initiatives communes tout en respectant leurs trajectoires et leurs priorités respectives.

Ce texte a été conçu comme un instrument de coopération volontaire. Il permet aux États participants de collaborer dans différents domaines — civiques, culturels, institutionnels ou symboliques — selon leurs capacités et les projets qu’ils souhaitent porter ensemble.

Au fil des années, ce cadre a favorisé l’émergence d’activités communes, la mise en place de projets intermicronationaux et le développement de liens plus directs entre citoyens, organisations et dirigeants issus de différentes micronations.

Trois ans après sa signature, la Convention de Saint-Jacques continue ainsi de structurer les échanges et les initiatives de l’Union. Elle contribue notamment à rendre possibles des rencontres entre membres et partenaires, comme le sommet de l’UCML qui se tiendra le 25 avril 2026 à Derby Line (Vermont) et Stanstead (Québec).

Cet anniversaire est l’occasion de rappeler que la coopération micronationale repose avant tout sur la confiance, la constance et la volonté de construire des espaces de collaboration ouverts.

March 11, 2026 — A framework for cooperation within the Laurentian Micronational Cooperative Union

March 11, 2026 marks the **third anniversary of the Saint-Jacques Convention**, the treaty that today frames cooperation within the Laurentian Micronational Cooperative Union.

Adopted in 2023 by several micronational states of the Laurentian region, the Saint-Jacques Convention established a framework allowing regular dialogue among entities wishing to develop shared initiatives while maintaining their own priorities and trajectories.

The agreement was designed as a voluntary instrument of cooperation. It allows participating states to collaborate in a range of areas — civic, cultural, institutional, and symbolic — according to their capacities and the projects they choose to pursue together.

Over the years, this framework has supported the emergence of common activities, the development of intermicronational initiatives, and closer connections between citizens, organizations, and leaders from different micronations.

Three years after its signing, the Saint-Jacques Convention continues to structure exchanges and initiatives within the Union. It also helps make possible gatherings between members and partners, such as the **LMCU summit to be held on April 25, 2026 in Derby Line (Vermont) and Stanstead (Quebec)**.

This anniversary offers an opportunity to recall that micronational cooperation is built above all on trust, continuity, and the shared will to create open spaces of collaboration.

Conçu comme un moment simple et convivial, ce sommet offrira un espace d’échanges et de discussions consacré à la coopération micronationale, aux initiatives en cours et aux perspectives communes au sein de l’espace laurentien. Il s’agit avant tout d’une occasion de se rencontrer et de partager, dans un cadre accessible et à échelle humaine.

The Laurentian Micronational Cooperative Union is pleased to announce the holding of its first summit on April 25, 2026, within the cross-border community formed by Derby Line, in Vermont, and Stanstead, in Quebec, directly along the Canada–United States border.

Designed as a simple and welcoming gathering, the summit will provide a space for exchange and discussion dedicated to micronational cooperation, ongoing initiatives, and shared perspectives within the Laurentian space. Above all, it is intended as an opportunity to meet and share within an accessible, human-scale setting.

The choice of a location where a street, a library, and sometimes a simple conversation are enough to cross a border — even at a time when certain rhetoric reminds us that such fluidity is never guaranteed — naturally reflects the spirit of dialogue, pragmatism, and practical cooperation that defines the LMCU.

The LMCU invites micronational leaders, as well as micronational citizens, to take part in this open day of participation and collective visibility.

Le 6 février 2026 marque le quatrième anniversaire de la Convention de Saguenay, acte fondateur à partir duquel s’est progressivement structuré un espace de coopération durable entre États micronationaux laurentiens.

Signée en 2022, la Convention de Saguenay a consacré un choix politique clair : fonder une coopération volontaire reposant sur la confiance mutuelle, la coordination institutionnelle et la collégialité des décisions. L’adoption d’une monnaie commune, la piastre, visait à donner une expression concrète à cette volonté, sans jamais remettre en cause la souveraineté des États signataires.

Quatre ans plus t**d, cette démarche a trouvé sa pleine mesure. En 2026, l’Union coopérative micronationale laurentienne est une union élargie réunissant quatre États membres au sein d’un cadre commun structuré, consolidé et lisible. Cette évolution s’est opérée par approfondissement progressif du modèle initial, dans le respect des équilibres institutionnels.
La transformation de l’UCML en union régionale s’est accompagnée de l’adoption de la Convention de Saint-Jacques, en 2023. Celle-ci a clarifié l’architecture de l’Union en distinguant explicitement la Zone piastre des autres champs de coopération, tout en réaffirmant sans ambiguïté la souveraineté des États membres.

Aujourd’hui, l’UCML constitue un espace coopératif consolidé, doté d’instruments communs et de mécanismes éprouvés, capable d’évoluer sans renoncer à ses principes fondateurs. Cet anniversaire est l’occasion de réaffirmer une méthode : avancer par consensus, consolider avant d’élargir et privilégier la cohérence institutionnelle.

La Convention de Saguenay demeure la première pierre d’un projet commun en constante évolution.

February 6, 2026 marks the fourth anniversary of the Saguenay Convention, the founding act from which a lasting framework of cooperation among Laurentian micronational states gradually emerged.

Signed in 2022, the Saguenay Convention formalized a clear political choice: to establish voluntary cooperation grounded in mutual trust, institutional coordination, and collegial decision-making. The adoption of a common currency, the piaster, was intended to give tangible form to this commitment, without ever calling into question the sovereignty of the signatory states.

Four years later, this approach has reached maturity. In 2026, the Laurentian Micronational Cooperative Union stands as an expanded union of four member states, operating within a structured, consolidated, and coherent common framework. This growth has occurred through the gradual deepening of the original model, while preserving institutional balance.

The evolution of the LMCU into a regional union was accompanied by the adoption of the Saint-Jacques Convention in 2023. This treaty clarified the Union’s architecture by explicitly separating the Piaster Zone from other areas of cooperation, while unequivocally reaffirming the sovereignty of all member states.

Today, the LMCU constitutes a consolidated cooperative space, equipped with shared instruments and tested mechanisms, capable of evolving without abandoning its founding principles. This anniversary provides an opportunity to reaffirm a guiding method: consensus before expansion, consolidation before growth, and institutional coherence as a priority.

The Saguenay Convention remains the first foundation stone of a common project in constant evolution.

L’Autorité Monétaire Laurentienne annonce que le Grand-Duché de Misberie a officiellement rejoint, le 8 janvier 2026, la Zone piastre, à la suite de la signature de l’Accord du Square-Dorchester et du Pacte de l’Indian Stream. Cette étape complète son adhésion à l’Union Coopérative Micronationale Laurentienne, intervenue le 1ᵉʳ janvier 2026.

À compter de l’entrée en vigueur du Pacte de l’Indian Stream, la piastre de l’UCML (PLA) est reconnue comme unité de compte principale et obligatoire sur les territoires inclus du Grand-Duché de Misberie. Elle devient la référence officielle pour l’expression des valeurs administratives, comptables et contractuelles.

La lire misbérienne (MIL) demeure en circulation comme moyen de paiement complémentaire, strictement indexé sur la piastre de l’UCML selon un taux irrévocable de

1 lire misbérienne = 73 piastres de l’UCML.

L’intégration monétaire s’effectue de manière progressive sur une période de quatre-vingt-dix (90) jours. Durant cette période, la lire misbérienne reste le seul instrument de paiement en circulation, tandis que la piastre est introduite comme référence comptable. La mise en circulation fiduciaire de la piastre interviendra à l’issue de ce délai.

La Banque Nationale de Misberie assure la mise en œuvre opérationnelle du Pacte en coopération avec l’Autorité Monétaire Laurentienne. Celle-ci accompagnera la transition par une information continue afin de garantir une intégration claire, sécurisée et adaptée à la réalité micronationale.

The Laurentian Monetary Authority announces that the Grand Duchy of Misberia officially joined the Piaster Zone on January 8, 2026, following the signing of the Dorchester Square Agreement and the Indian Stream Pact. This step completes its accession to the Laurentian Micronational Cooperative Union, which took effect on January 1, 2026.

As of the entry into force of the Indian Stream Pact, the LMCU piaster (PLA) is recognized as the primary and mandatory unit of account within Misberia’s included territories. It now serves as the official reference for administrative, accounting, and contractual values.

The Misberian lira (MIL) remains in circulation as a complementary means of payment, strictly indexed to the LMCU piaster at an irrevocable rate of

1 Misberian lira = 73 LMCU piasters.

Monetary integration will take place progressively over a ninety (90)-day period. During this time, the Misberian lira remains the sole instrument of payment in circulation, while the piaster is introduced as the accounting reference. Fiduciary circulation of the piaster will begin at the end of this period.

The National Bank of Misberia is responsible for operational implementation in cooperation with the Laurentian Monetary Authority, which will support the transition through ongoing public information to ensure a clear, secure, and micronationally adapted integration.

Le Collège exécutif de l’Union Coopérative Micronationale Laurentienne confirme qu’en ce 1ᵉʳ janvier 2026, l’Union compte désormais quatre États membres, à la suite de l’entrée en vigueur des adhésions de la République d’Athabasca et du Grand-Duché de Misberie, conformément à la Convention de Saint-Jacques.

L’Union réunit à présent le Neugraviat de Saint-Castin, la Principauté de Sancratosie, la République d’Athabasca et le Grand-Duché de Misberie au sein d’une association d’États souverains fondée sur la coopération, l’égalité institutionnelle et la prise de décision par consensus.

L’adhésion de la République d’Athabasca prend pleinement effet à compter d’aujourd’hui et s’inscrit dans le cadre commun établi par la Convention de Saint-Jacques, dans le respect des souverainetés et des responsabilités propres à chaque État membre.

L’adhésion du Grand-Duché de Misberie s’exerce dans le cadre d’un Protocole relatif au périmètre territorial de l’adhésion, définissant les territoires auxquels s’appliquent les instruments de l’Union. Les autres territoires relevant du Grand-Duché conservent leur pleine autonomie et entretiennent avec l’Union des relations adaptées à leur statut, la Convention de Saint-Jacques s’appliquant exclusivement au périmètre ainsi défini.

L’entrée dans l’année 2026 constitue une étape structurante pour l’Union Coopérative Micronationale Laurentienne. Le Collège exécutif se félicite de cette évolution, qui consolide le cadre coopératif de l’Union, et poursuivra ses travaux dans le respect des principes établis par la Convention de Saint-Jacques.

Le Collège exécutif adresse enfin, en ce premier jour de l’année 2026, ses meilleurs vœux à l’ensemble des gouvernements, institutions et citoyens des États membres de l’Union.

The Executive College of the Laurentian Micronational Cooperative Union confirms that, as of today, January 1, 2026, the Union now comprises four Member States, following the entry into force of the accessions of the Republic of Athabasca and the Grand Duchy of Misberia, in accordance with the Saint-Jacques Convention.

The Union now brings together the Newgraviate of Saint-Castin, the Principality of Sancratosia, the Republic of Athabasca, and the Grand Duchy of Misberia within an association of sovereign states founded on cooperation, institutional equality, and consensus-based decision-making.

The accession of the Republic of Athabasca takes full effect as of today and is implemented within the common framework established by the Saint-Jacques Convention, in full respect of the sovereignty and responsibilities of each Member State.

The accession of the Grand Duchy of Misberia operates under a Protocol on the Territorial Scope of Accession, which defines the territories to which Union instruments apply. Other territories under the authority of the Grand Duchy retain full autonomy and maintain relations with the Union through arrangements suited to their status, with the Saint-Jacques Convention applying solely within the defined perimeter.

The beginning of 2026 marks a structuring milestone for the Laurentian Micronational Cooperative Union. The Executive College welcomes this development, which strengthens the Union’s cooperative framework, and will continue its work in accordance with the principles established by the Saint-Jacques Convention.

On this first day of 2026, the Executive College extends its best wishes to the governments, institutions, and citizens of all Member States of the Union.

Cette décision, conclue à l’issue d’échanges institutionnels approfondis, permettra à la Misberie de devenir, le 1ᵉʳ janvier 2025, le quatrième État constituant l’Union, aux côtés du Neugraviat de Saint-Castin, de la Principauté de Sancratosie et de la République d’Athabasca, conformément à la Convention de Saint-Jacques.

À compter de cette date, la Misberie participera pleinement aux organes prévus par la Convention, notamment le Collège exécutif et le Parlement laurentien, dans une architecture institutionnelle reposant sur la coopération entre États, l’égalité institutionnelle et la prise de décision par consensus. Son adhésion vise à inscrire cette évolution dans un cadre de coopération prévisible, respectueux des souverainetés et fondé sur la confiance mutuelle.

Cette adhésion s’accompagne de la conclusion d’un Protocole relatif au périmètre territorial de l’adhésion, instrument distinct et spécifiquement négocié entre l’UCML et le Grand-Duché de Misberie. Ce protocole définit la zone géographique couverte par l’intégration, limitée aux territoires misbériens situés en Amérique du Nord, au nord du 40ᵉ parallèle et à l’est de la ligne continentale de partage des eaux, afin d’assurer une application cohérente et maîtrisée des compétences de l’Union. Ce cadre garantit une application territoriale clairement définie et juridiquement sécurisée des instruments communs.

L’entrée du Grand-Duché de Misberie constitue une étape importante dans l’évolution de l’Union Coopérative Micronationale Laurentienne. Le Collège exécutif accueille cette adhésion avec satisfaction et travaillera étroitement avec les autorités misbériennes afin d’assurer une intégration ordonnée, progressive et conforme aux principes fondamentaux de l’UCML.

The Executive College of the Laurentian Micronational Cooperative Union announces its consensus approval of the accession request submitted by the Grand Duchy of Misberia. This decision, reached following in-depth institutional discussions, will allow Misberia to become, on January 1, 2025, the fourth Constituent State of the Union, alongside the Newgraviate of Saint-Castin, the Principality of Sancratosia, and the Republic of Athabasca, in accordance with the Saint-Jacques Convention.

As of that date, Misberia will participate fully in the bodies established by the Convention, including the Executive College and the Laurentian Parliament, within an institutional architecture based on cooperation among states, institutional equality, and consensus-based decision-making. Its accession seeks to anchor this development within a predictable framework of cooperation, respectful of sovereignty and founded on mutual trust.

The accession is accompanied by the conclusion of a Protocol on the Territorial Scope of Accession, a distinct instrument specifically negotiated between the LMCU and the Grand Duchy of Misberia. This protocol defines the geographic area covered by the accession, limited to Misberian territories located in North America, north of the 40th parallel and east of the continental watershed divide, in order to ensure a coherent and carefully managed application of the Union’s competencies. This framework guarantees a clearly defined and legally secure territorial application of shared instruments.

The accession of the Grand Duchy of Misberia constitutes an important step in the evolution of the Laurentian Micronational Cooperative Union. The Executive College welcomes this accession with satisfaction and will work closely with the Misberian authorities to ensure an orderly, progressive, and principled integration in line with the fundamental principles of the LMCU.

Le Collège exécutif de l’Union Coopérative Micronationale Laurentienne annonce l’acceptation, par consensus, de la demande d’adhésion présentée par la République d’Athabasca. Cette décision, conclue après plus de dix mois d’échanges constructifs, permettra à Athabasca de devenir, le 1ᵉʳ janvier 2026, le troisième membre de l’Union, aux côtés du Neugraviat de Saint-Castin et de la Principauté de Sancratosie, conformément à la Convention de Saint-Jacques.

À partir de cette date, la République d’Athabasca prendra pleinement part aux organes prévus par la Convention, dont le Collège exécutif et le Parlement laurentien. Son intégration s’inscrira dans une structure institutionnelle où les États coopèrent tout en exerçant leurs responsabilités souveraines, dans un cadre bâti sur la confiance, l’autonomie décisionnelle et la coordination volontaire.

Cette adhésion ouvre par ailleurs un cycle de discussions approfondies sur l’architecture monétaire définie par l’Accord du Square-Dorchester. Les travaux conjoints prévus pour les prochains mois permettront d’examiner les conditions techniques et administratives menant à une éventuelle convergence vers les mécanismes monétaires communs, selon un calendrier arrêté avec les autorités athabascannes.

En parallèle, des échanges seront engagés sur les dispositifs civils et humanitaires de l’Accord du Fort-Chambly, afin d’évaluer les modalités selon lesquelles Athabasca pourrait participer à la coordination régionale en matière de secours et de gestion des crises, dans le respect du principe de neutralité qui fonde ce cadre.

L’entrée de la République d’Athabasca représente une avancée importante dans l’évolution de l’Union. Elle renforce la cohésion de l’espace laurentien et confirme la solidité du modèle opérationnel établi par la Convention de Saint-Jacques. Le Collège exécutif accueille cette adhésion avec satisfaction et travaillera étroitement avec les autorités athabascannes pour assurer une intégration ordonnée, progressive et conforme aux principes fondamentaux de l’UCML.

The Executive College of the Laurentian Micronational Cooperative Union announces its consensus approval of the accession request submitted by the Republic of Athabasca. Following more than ten months of constructive negotiations, this decision will enable Athabasca to join the Union on January 1, 2026 as its third member, alongside the Newgraviate of Saint-Castin and the Principality of Sancratosia, in accordance with the Saint-Jacques Convention.

On that date, the Republic of Athabasca will take its place within the institutions established by the Convention, including the Executive College and the Laurentian Parliament. Its integration will occur within a system in which member states coordinate their policies while retaining their sovereign authority, operating through negotiated alignment, shared initiatives and voluntarily agreed decisions.

The accession also launches a structured dialogue on the monetary framework defined by the Dorchester Square Agreement. In the months ahead, joint technical work will assess Athabasca’s administrative readiness and determine the conditions under which it may consider aligning with the Union’s shared monetary mechanisms, following a schedule agreed with national authorities.

At the same time, discussions will extend to the civil and humanitarian coordination mechanisms of the Fort-Chambly Agreement, with the aim of identifying appropriate forms of participation in regional crisis-response structures, in full respect of the neutrality underpinning the agreement.

The accession of the Republic of Athabasca marks a significant step in the ongoing development of the Laurentian cooperative space. It strengthens the cohesion of the LMCU and reaffirms the durability of the framework established in the Saint-Jacques Convention. The Executive College welcomes this development and will work closely with Athabascan authorities to ensure a smooth, gradual and principled integration into the Union.

Le Collège Exécutif de l’Union Coopérative Micronationale Laurentienne (UCML) annonce la nomination de M. Dylan Callahan à la fonction de Vérificateur externe de l’Union, conformément aux dispositions de la Convention de Saint-Jacques, telle qu’amendée.

M. Callahan possède une vaste expérience dans les domaines de la gouvernance et de la diplomatie micronationale. Il a exercé plusieurs fonctions au sein d’organisations partenaires, notamment en tant que Chancelier impérial de l’Empire de Karnia-Ruthenia, Consul de l’État de Delvera et Historien national du Commonwealth de Dracul. Son parcours témoigne d’une connaissance approfondie des cadres institutionnels et d’une approche fondée sur l’intégrité, la rigueur et l’impartialité.

Le Collège Exécutif considère que la nomination de M. Callahan contribuera au renforcement de la transparence, de la stabilité et de la crédibilité des mécanismes de supervision financière de l’Union. Cette décision s’inscrit dans la volonté constante d’assurer une gestion responsable et conforme aux normes de bonne gouvernance reconnues au sein de la coopération laurentienne.

The Executive College of the Laurentian Micronational Cooperative Union (LMCU) announces the appointment of Mr. Dylan Callahan as External Auditor of the Union, in accordance with the provisions of the Saint-Jacques Convention, as amended.

Mr. Callahan brings extensive experience in the fields of governance and micronational diplomacy. He has held several positions within partner organizations, including Imperial Chancellor of the Empire of Karnia-Ruthenia, Consul of the State of Delvera, and National Historian of the Commonwealth of Dracul. His career reflects a deep understanding of institutional frameworks and a professional approach rooted in integrity, rigour, and impartiality.

The Executive College considers that Mr. Callahan’s appointment will further strengthen the transparency, stability, and credibility of the Union’s financial oversight mechanisms. This decision reaffirms the Union’s ongoing commitment to responsible management and adherence to recognized standards of good governance within the framework of the Laurentian Cooperation.

On this occasion, the Executive College reiterates its commitment to fostering a culture of integrity, loyalty, and accountability within the Union. These values remain fundamental to the consolidation of intermicronational cooperation and the pursuit of the common good.

L’Union Coopérative Micronationale Laurentienne (UCML) annonce l’adoption et la signature par l’ensemble de ses États membres de l’Accord du Fort-Chambly relatif à l’établissement du Commandement Uni de Défense.

Ce nouvel instrument marque une étape majeure dans la consolidation des mécanismes de coopération entre les États de l’Union en matière de sécurité publique, de gestion des crises et d’intervention humanitaire.

Par cet accord, les membres de l’UCML affirment leur volonté commune de renforcer la solidarité régionale et de promouvoir une approche neutre, non militarisée et fondée sur la prévention. Le Commandement Uni de Défense, créé par l’accord, aura pour mission de coordonner les efforts de protection des civils, de prévenir les crises et de soutenir les opérations humanitaires dans l’ensemble du territoire de l’Union.

L’Accord du Fort-Chambly établit également la Garde de la Paix, une force civile composée de volontaires, chargée d’intervenir lors de catastrophes naturelles, d’épidémies ou de situations humanitaires d’urgence, toujours sous le principe du consentement des autorités concernées et dans le respect absolu de la souveraineté des États membres.

Par cette signature historique, les gouvernements signataires réaffirment leur engagement envers les valeurs fondatrices de l’Union : solidarité, coopération et humanité.
L’UCML se dote ainsi d’un outil collectif moderne, garant de la stabilité régionale et du respect de la dignité humaine dans toutes les situations.à

Adoption of the Fort Chambly Agreement

The Laurentian Micronational Cooperative Union (LMCU) announces the adoption and signature by all of its member states of the Fort Chambly Agreement on the Establishment of the Unified Defense Command.

This new instrument marks a major milestone in the consolidation of cooperative mechanisms among the Union’s member states in the areas of public security, crisis management, and humanitarian intervention.

Through this agreement, the members of the LCMU reaffirm their shared commitment to strengthening regional solidarity and promoting a neutral, non-militarized, and prevention-based approach. The Unified Defense Command, established by the agreement, is mandated to coordinate efforts to protect civilians, prevent crises, and support humanitarian operations throughout the Union’s territories.

The Fort Chambly Agreement also establishes the Peace Guard, a civilian force composed of volunteers, responsible for intervening in cases of natural disasters, epidemics, or humanitarian emergencies—always under the principle of consent from the competent authorities and in full respect of the sovereignty of member states.

Through this historic signature, the signatory governments reaffirm their dedication to the founding values of the Union: solidarity, cooperation, and humanity.

In doing so, the LCMU endows itself with a modern collective instrument, ensuring regional stability and upholding human dignity in all circumstances.
