☀️ Sun Safety Study for Farmers & Ag Workers – Participants Needed
Farmers and agricultural workers who spend long hours outdoors face increased risks from sun exposure. The University of Saskatchewan and UBC are running a study to help improve sun safety practices — and they’re looking for participants.

You can join if you:
• Work in farming/agriculture
• Are 18+
• Work outdoors 2+ hours per day
• Have a smartphone
• Understand English

Participants receive sun safety messages through an app, complete short surveys, and earn a $25 gift card.

Do you have students in Grades 4–6 who live and breathe agriculture?
The Ag Health & Safety Network offers FREE farm safety demonstrations for schools in member RMs — including ours!

Presentations include:
• Hazard board display
• Animal safety
• Sun safety
• Interactive hands‑on activities

Each session is about one hour and works best with groups of 15 students.

Grade 12 students for the 2026–27 school year can apply for two $1,500 scholarships in Agricultural Safety & Rural Health.
If you:
• Live in a rural area with a farming background
• Have parents/guardians who own or rent land in an RM
• Completed the last two years of high school in Saskatchewan
• Plan to attend post‑secondary in fall 2027

Then you’re eligible!

Write an essay on one of the two topics and submit your application by January 15, 2027 (CST).

🚰 Public Drinking Water Advisory Lifted – Village of Ceylon

The Village of Ceylon is pleased to inform residents that the Public Drinking Water Advisory has been officially rescinded.

Recent testing confirms that the water system now meets all safety and quality standards. Regular consumption, cooking, and household use may resume as normal.

Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory

This Advisory applies to residents and users of the Village of Ceylon’s water distribution system, and is effective August 12, 2026 1:00 PM until further notice.

Pursuant to clause 36(1)(a) of The Environmental Management and Protection Act, 2010 this Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory is issued due to power outtage resulting in a system depressurization and therefore the safety of the drinking water supply cannot be ensured at all times. Therefore, pursuant to clause 36(1)(b) of The Environmental Management and Protection Act, 2010, consumers must be notified and follow the attached accordingly until the time the advisory is rescinded.

During this time, water service will be unavailable while generator repairs are completed.
