We are still accepting applications from local indigenous individuals for the 2026 UNBC Archaeology Field School at Tse’K’wa National Historic Site, running May 11 – June 22, 2026! Spaces are limited - apply today!
Program Highlights:
Hands-on archaeological training: excavation, survey, mapping, and lab work.
🪶 Learning from Dane-zaa Knowledge Keepers about cultural history and traditions.
🫎 Participation in Doig Day (May) and National Indigenous Peoples Day (June 21).
🔬 Exposure to both archaeological science techniques and traditional technologies.
🦫 Opportunities to bridge Traditional Knowledge and Western Knowledge.
Eligibility & Costs:
Open to local Indigenous participants.
Participants must be available for the full 6-week program.
No costs to attend -- tuition and fees are covered through ISET funding.
Camp Life & Schedule:
6-week on-site camping at Tse’K’wa (tent and sleeping bag; RVs not permitted).
Participants help with meal prep, equipment, and site maintenance.
Sundays are generally rest days.
