The Autism Society is hosting Sensory Friendly Trick or Treating on Friday, October 30th from 2:00 - 4:00pm. This is an opportunity for anyone who may want to attend - everyone is welcome. The event continues to grow with over 16 participating venues this year.

What does being Sensory Friendly mean?
Sensory Friendly Trick or Treating means a calm, predictable and friendly environment. Trick or Treating inside the SBC building in a low noise environment with acceptance of all styles of Trick of Treating.

Every dollar raised directly impacts Island families. Your donations allow us to host safe, rewarding respite events for children and reliable parent support groups where families can share resources, advice, and a welcoming community.

Nov 5-6 Ocean & Marine Engineering PD Day Camp
Ocean & Marine Engineering PD Day Camp — Exclusive ASPEI Member Discount

Resolution Life Coaching Inc. is excited to offer a two-day Ocean & Marine Engineering PD Day Camp on November 5 and November 6. This hands-on STEM camp will invite participants to explore, create, problem-solve, and build confidence through engaging ocean- and marine-themed activities.

The camp is designed for autistic and neurodivergent learners in Kindergarten through Grade 12, as well as young people with intellectual disabilities whose developmental and support needs align with this age range, up to age 20. Siblings are welcome, with priority registration for autistic participants.

Snacks are included. One-to-one support may be available at a subsidized fee, subject to availability. Families may also arrange for their child to attend with their own support person.

♿ NEW ON-DEMAND ACCESSIBLE TAXI SERVICE LAUNCHES IN CHARLOTTETOWN AREA

A new accessible taxi is now available in Charlottetown, Stratford and Cornwall, giving people with disabilities another transportation option without requiring an advance booking.

🚕 WHAT’S NEW

The new service, Cudmore’s Accessible Cab, officially launched October 2 as part of a two-year pilot project.

It is operated by Pat and the Elephant and is designed to work like an on-demand taxi service, meaning passengers do not have to book their trip in advance.

The accessible vehicle can accommodate up to two wheelchairs at the same time.

📍 WHERE IS IT AVAILABLE?

The service operates within:

➡️ Charlottetown
➡️ Stratford
➡️ Cornwall

According to the province, the service is available:

🕐 Sunday to Thursday until 1 a.m.
🕒 Friday and Saturday until 3 a.m.

💰 WHAT DOES IT COST?

Fares start at $8.50, plus $1.60 per kilometre.

The province says there are no additional charges for extra passengers or waiting time.

♿ WHY WAS IT CREATED?

The new taxi is part of a provincial effort to improve accessible transportation options for Islanders with disabilities.

Unlike transportation services that may require trips to be arranged ahead of time, this service is intended to provide an on-demand option for things like appointments, errands, social activities or getting home later in the evening.

The pilot will run for two years.
