Nathalie and Nick at the Autism Society of PEI are trained facilitators of the Handle With Care Program. We are excited to announce that we are able to once again re-offer Handle with Care programming this Fall for our families.

Handle with Care (HWC) is a national program designed for parents and caregivers to promote mental health (social and emotional well-being) of children and families every day!

The spirit of the Handle with Care program is one of celebrating parenting and caregiving, recognizing the value of every parent, caregiver, and child.

The program uses a strengths-based approach that assumes every parent and caregiver has problem-solving skills, potential resources, and wants what's best for the children in their lives.

Our upcoming daytime session will take place starting this September 17th and will run for four weeks.

Program dates are September 17th, September 24th, October 1st and 8th from 12:45-3:00pm and will be held in the Early Childhood Development Associations Board room at 161 St Peters road in the Sherwood Business Centre.

To register for this program, please email [email protected]

Also if you are interested in this program, yet preference is an additional program in the evening please let us know.

This program will offer parents an opportunity to increase your social and parental networks and allow you to share your experiences in a safe and open environment.

📌 Model Fidelity Monday #3

Strong partnerships are at the heart of every successful Project SEARCH program.

Model fidelity means building and maintaining a collaborative team that includes: ⭐ Education
⭐ Vocational Rehabilitation
⭐ Community Rehabilitation Providers
⭐ Intellectual and Developmental Disability Services Agencies
⭐ Interns' families
⭐ Workforce Investment Boards (where available)

Each partner plays a vital role in creating meaningful opportunities, removing barriers, and supporting interns as they prepare for competitive integrated employment. When everyone brings their expertise to the table, interns benefit from a coordinated approach that sets them up for long-term success.

💡 Call to Action: Project SEARCH teams, take inventory of your partnerships this month. Who is actively engaged? Who might need a stronger voice at the table? Reach out, reconnect, and strengthen your collaboration to ensure every intern has the support they need to thrive.
