On 25 June 1875, the 'Queen's County Provisional Battalion of Infantry' was authorized to be formed. Several amalgamations and redesignations later, The Prince Edward Island Regiment (Royal Canadian Armoured Corps) came into effect in May 1958. Perpetuating the history of many fine Island units, including the 105th Battalion; The Prince Edward Island Highlanders and The Prince Edward Island Light Horse; our beloved Regiment carries on the history, heritage, traditions and battle honours of those who came before us.

Members of our Regiment have served around the world, in the Fields of Flanders and at Vimy Ridge; on the beaches of Normandy through to the Liberation of the Netherlands; in Korea; in the sand of Afghanistan; in peacekeeping and peace support operations in Cyprus, Bosnia, the Congo and Egypt; and today, in Latvia with NATO.

Today, The Prince Edward Island Regiment celebrates 150 years of loyal duty and service to its Island home and to Canada. It is an opportunity to celebrate not only our past, but to also recognize our continued contributions and commitment to peace, security and democracy.

Le 25 juin 1875, la formation du « Bataillon provisoire d'infanterie du comté de Queen's » fut autorisée. Après plusieurs fusions et changements de designation, le Prince Edward Island Regiment (Corps blindé royal canadien) entra en fonction en mai 1958. Perpétuant l'histoire de nombreuses unités insulaires remarquables, dont le 105e Bataillon, le Prince Edward Island Highlanders et le Prince Edward Island Light Horse, notre cher Régiment perpétue l'histoire, le patrimoine, les traditions et les honneurs de guerre de ceux qui nous ont précédés.

Les membres de notre Régiment ont servi partout dans le monde : sur les champs de bataille de Flandre et à la crête de Vimy; sur les plages de Normandie jusqu'à la libération des Pays-Bas; en Corée; sur le sable d'Afghanistan; lors d'opérations de maintien et de soutien de la paix à Chypre, en Bosnie, au Congo et en Égypte; et aujourd'hui, en Lettonie avec l'OTAN.

Aujourd'hui, le Prince Edward Island Regiment célèbre 150 ans de loyaux services envers son île natale et le Canada. C’est l’occasion de célébrer non seulement notre passé, mais aussi de reconnaître nos contributions et notre engagement continus à la paix, à la sécurité et à la démocratie.
