Today the Rotary Club of Chatham Sunrise, Rotary Satellite Club of Chatham-Kent and our Club had the pleasure of presenting cheques to the Buxton National Historic Site And Museum. The funds purchased mulch for the gardens and supplies and paint for the fence. We had fabulous volunteers and their family helping us to do the work. The pictures tell the story. This project is a continuation of the service project i. Buxton from our District Conference.
A big thank you to Charitable Gaming Chatham Kent for providing us with the opportunity to earn the funds.

it was a fantastic day with an incredible turnout from the community! Thank you to everyone who donated, participated in a test drive, and supported this important cause.

A special thank you goes to the dedicated volunteers from the Rotary Club of Chatham and the Rotary Satellite Club of Chatham-Kent, as well as the staff from Victory Ford who generously volunteered their time to help make the Ford Test Drive Event a success in support of Ashley’s Transportation Fund.

If you were unable to attend but would still like to contribute, donations can be made to Ashley’s Transportation Fund at the link below:

In addition to the generous donations received from individuals and Victory Ford, a Rotarian has pledged to match all funds raised, up to $10,000.

Thank you all for your kindness, generosity, and support. Together, we are making a real difference!

Happy to welcome Child & Teen Librarian Jessica D’Felio from the Chatham-Kent Public Library today to share more information about the “Clash of the Clans” where classrooms compete across Chatham-Kent and Lambton counties to read the most books. We love being part of this fun program! And congratulations to Merlin Area Public School and Blenheim District High School who were our elementary and secondary school winners!

Today we are talking about our wonderful partnership with the Chatham-Kent Public Library called “Clash of the Classrooms”. It’s a friendly competition between schools in the Lambton-Kent District School Board to encourage literacy.

Our Rotary District 6380 Governor Wendy Hysell Jones, District Conference Chair Don Sparky Leonard and Rotary International General Secretary John Hewko paid a visit to one of our fellow Rotarians Ashley who was unable to join us for the conference in person this weekend. Ashley is an engaged Rotarian in our Club, we miss her and hope to see her back at our meetings again soon.

Our keynote speaker this morning at Rotary District 6380 District Conference is Christina Hassan from Thamesville. She’s also a lawyer, mom, past District Governor and an Honorary Consul for Germany.

Christina’s remarks were absolutely remarkable speaking about her experience growing up in Thamesville, as an exchange student in Germany, fighting a major health challenge and then living in Uganda and learning and advocating for maternal health.

Christina’s presentation was superb. If you ever have a chance to hear her speak, highly recommend.
