Community Wheels, Chester, Nova Scotia “Community Wheels” is an inclusive community-based transportation service serving the Municipality he Community Wheels service was launched in 2007.

One of the unique features of our regular service is that we do not charge fares but rather it is operated on a “free will offering” basis with donations accepted from riders. Community Wheels is also licensed to provide charter service at set fees. All revenue earned by charters is used to support the “by donation” service.

Celebrating 19 Years of Community Wheels! 🎉

This year, Community Wheels is proud to celebrate 19 years of serving the Municipality of the District of Chester!

For nearly two decades, we've been helping people stay connected—to medical appointments, grocery stores, workplaces, community programs, family, friends, and so much more. What began as a community initiative has grown into a vital transportation service that supports thousands of rides each year.

This milestone wouldn't have been possible without the incredible support of our riders, dedicated staff, Board of Directors, community partners, and funders. Your trust and commitment have helped us continue our mission of providing safe, accessible, and affordable transportation to those who need it most.

As we celebrate 19 years, we're also looking ahead. We're excited to continue growing, improving our services, and finding new ways to meet the transportation needs of our community.

The only requirement is that your trip begins within the Municipality of the District of Chester. From there, we can take you wherever you need to go!
