Yesterday, our students participated in a wonderful Chalk the Walk event organized and facilitated by our Social Emotional Wellness Worker, Mrs. Belanger.
Classes were thoughtfully paired so that our “older” students could support our younger learners—helping to build meaningful connections while fostering a strong sense of belonging and safety throughout our school community.
Students filled the walkways with positive, uplifting drawings, inspirational messages, and encouraging words—all while having fun and working together.
Thank you to everyone who helped spread joy, positivity, and support as we head into the weekend. 💛💙We are truly !

🎨✨ Creative Rebels in Action at Chesterville PS! ✨🎨
We were so excited to welcome Mr. Patrick, artist and illustrator, to Chesterville Public School on Tuesday! He inspired our students to be creative rebels—reminding us that it’s OK to make messy art and that art is something we create for ourselves.
During a school-wide presentation, students watched as Mr. Patrick showed how he layers ideas and materials to build his artwork—from a simple canvas to a finished piece he generously donated to our school.
Our primary students had a blast creating pinch puppets from clothespins during a hands-on workshop, while our junior students explored landscapes, layering, and building dimension using a variety of materials. The energy was high, the creativity was flowing, and the students were buzzing!
When he wasn’t presenting, Mr. Patrick was hard at work on a mural that will be installed in our front foyer before the end of the school year (once the paint has time to cure!). It will be a beautiful reminder of who we are at Chesterville PS.
Thank you, Mr. Patrick, for inspiring us, engaging our students, and giving us permission to make messy art. We can’t wait to see what our students continue to create! 💙🎨

🪏🪴Experiential learning, and community partners👨‍🍳👩‍🍳

This week at the FAITH Pantry and Community Garden, the students in Mme Carriere’s classes continued learning through hands-on community work. The Grade 6 students prepared meals and baked together in the kitchen while developing teamwork and practical life skills. 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳🥄
Outside, the Grade 5 students helped care for the garden space by picking rocks, cleaning up the area, and planting onions for the growing season ahead.🪏🪴🧅
Well done everyone! We our so proud of you all!

📝✍🏻 Literacy in Action 📝✍🏻

Students in Grade 3/4 have been exploring Procedural, or, "How-To" Writing, where they create sequential step by step directions for readers to accomplish a specific task. Grade 3/4 students then got to become the teachers, and guide their peers through a procedure. This included new and exciting tasks such as, how to make lemonade, how to make a bracelet, how to draw something, and even how to plant a flower!

What a great way to make learning fun
And meaningful. Well done everyone! 👏🏻🎉
