Mt Slesse Middle School Official page of Mount Slesse Middle School, a grade 6 to grade 8 school in School District 33, Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

Mount Slesse was designed and constructed in 1996, built according to the Middle School Philosophy. In October 1995, the principal was hired and immediately began the process of research, visitations and readings so that a personal vision could be established. In December 1995, the vice principal was hired, the six team leaders being hired during January 1996. The idea of team building continued w

ith the hiring of 36 full time teachers, 3 secretaries, 5 noon hour supervisors, 3 custodians and a business manager. Parents were encouraged to become involved at a very early stage in the development of the school. From January - March 1996, parents from the surrounding elementary schools were informed about the Middle School philosophy and meetings were held to establish priorities for "their" school. On March 6, 1996 the first Parent Advisory Committee was held to begin working on the Mission Statement. Students were also involved from the beginning. Each class was asked to select school colours, a school name and a school mascot. In the end, a timberwolf was the most popular choice and the school colours chosen were silver, black and teal.

Dear MSMS Families,

We are writing to let you know about a change to our upcoming schoolwide field trip.

We want to begin by acknowledging the incident that took place at Cultus Lake Waterpark earlier this week. Our thoughts are with the students, families, and school community who were impacted.

We've been notified the Waterpark will be closed on Monday, June 22, so our scheduled trip will not be going ahead as planned.

What this means for your family:

- We will be receiving a refund from the Waterpark for the trip.

- Student QuickPay accounts will be credited for any families who had already paid for the trip.

- This credit will remain in your student's QuickPay account and can be used toward any future school fees or field trips, right through to Grade 12.

We are arranging alternate activities for students on Monday, June 22. Some classroom teachers may reach out directly if their alternate activity takes place off school property.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
