Rental vacancy rates reached 3% for the first time in a decade, meeting the benchmark for a balanced market and improving rental housing availability.

Housing starts increased 49% from the previous year, with multi-family homes accounting for 89% of new construction, including semi-detached homes, row houses and apartments.

The updated Regional Growth Strategy (RGS) Monitoring Report and interactive RGS Monitoring Website track how our region is changing across a wide range of topics including housing, transportation, the environment and the economy.

This year’s report examines data and trends across 32 different indicators, including rental housing vacancy, housing starts, intraregional travel patterns and electric vehicle adoption.

Our wallets may contain a variety of cards but are they the ID’s you require so you can vote in the FVRD General Local Election?

Before you go to your voting location, please ensure that you bring two pieces of ID, one of which must contain a signature.

Accepted identification at FVRD Voting Locations:
• BC driver’s license
• BC Identification Card (BCID)
• BC Services Card (with photo)
• Owner’s Certificate of Insurance and Vehicle Insurance issued by ICBC
• Ministry of Social Development and Economic Security Request for Continued Assistance Form SDES8
• Social Insurance Card or confirmation of a SIN issued by the Government of Canada
• Citizenship Card issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada
• A real property tax notice
• Credit card or debit card issued by a savings institution
• Utility bill issued for the supply of electricity, natural gas, water, telephone services or coaxial cable services
• Canadian passport
• Canadian Indian Status card or First Nations and Metis Citizenship or Membership cards
• Canadian Fi****ms License
• Any other government issued ID

It is only days until the polls open for the FVRD General Local Election – General Voting Day. Did you know that as an Elector, you register at the voting place at the time of voting only? You must bring two separate pieces of identification, one of which includes a signature.

October 13, 2026, Reminder - Notice of Service Upgrade Work in Boston Bar

A friendly reminder that starting today, October 13 until the end of day on October 23, the FVRD Engineering Utility Team will be actively working on water service upgrades in the areas of Poplar Road, Maple Road, and Alder Road in Boston Bar.

Water service disruptions are anticipated to be minimal in nature. If a temporary interruption is required, affected residents will receive advance notice by door knocking one day in advance of the planned water disruption.
