The Village of Christopher Lake is proud to announce that our community rink will now be officially named the Jim Logan Memorial Rink.
This renaming honours Jim’s years of dedication, volunteerism, and the lasting impact he made on local recreation and youth sports. His commitment to our community will continue to be remembered every time families gather, skates hit the ice, and neighbours come together.

We thank everyone who supported this initiative and invite residents to join us in celebrating Jim’s legacy.

📌 Christopher Lake Camps – Factual Timeline & Municipal Requirements
The Village is sharing the following factual summary to clarify recent questions regarding Christopher Lake Camps (CLC), Southridge Camps Ltd., and 102142053 Saskatchewan Ltd. (053 Sask).
🔹 Ownership & Representation History Based on affidavits and all correspondence received:
• Southridge Camps Ltd. was the owner/operator of CLC until it became inactive in 2024.
• Communications were with William Elliot and later Kelly & Kerrie Elliot, who consistently represented themselves as acting for Southridge, not 053 Sask.
• No reference to 053 Sask was made until July 26, 2025, when a business licence application was submitted for a carnival—not for operation of the campground.
🔹 Outstanding Taxes & Trailer Fees
• Amounts owing include property taxes and trailer site fees.
• A $15,000 payment was received in 2025, but arrears remain.
• Village staff counted 65 occupied sites, not the 50 claimed—leaving approx. $4,500 still outstanding.
• Under Bylaw 4/18, unpaid trailer fees are added to the tax roll and become outstanding taxes.
🔹 Property Assessment Concerns
• Assessments are completed by SAMA, not the Village.
• Any challenge must be made through the provincial assessment appeal process.
• The Village must levy taxes based on SAMA’s certified assessment unless SAMA issues an amendment.
🔹 Prosperity Credit Union Payments
• Payments referenced by the applicant relate to a different property (Roll #180 000).
• CLC’s roll number is 72 000.
• The payments were for a nursing home operated by Ms. Elliot’s parents, not CLC.
🔹 Required Permits & Licences CLC operations must comply with Village bylaws:
• Operational Permit required under Bylaws 7/15 and 3/25.
• A change in ownership invalidates any existing permit.
• 053 Sask has never applied for an Operational Permit.
• Business Licence required under Bylaw 09/21.
• Section 24 requires notification of ownership changes—none was provided.
• Sections 26 & 29 prohibit issuing licences where premises or operations do not meet municipal requirements.
🔹 Village Position The Village has acted in good faith and according to its bylaws. Permit and licence decisions are based on compliance—not on recovering another corporation’s debt. Once all required documentation and bylaw requirements are met, future applications will be considered on their merits.
