Hello Parents,

As we do each year, we are holding a food drive for the local food bank in the hope of helping some of those in need over the holidays. Please consider sending in some food bank items with your child. Donation items can be dropped at the boxes in front of the office. There is a box for each house team.

Note that there are a number of fun events this week put on by our students council, all of which are a chance for students to earn house team points.

Monday Dec 18th: Santa Hat day

Tuesday Dec 19th: Movie night (The Santa Clause), 7 pm in the multipurpose room.

Wednesday Dec 20th: Pizza party at lunch for the house team currently in the lead.

Thursday Dec 21st: PJ Day with hot chocoate in the cafe

Friday Dec 22nd: PAC Christmas Luncheon, Ugly Sweater Contest

Hello Parents,

We had a great recognition assembly this week honoring achievement, grit, and citizenship. We experimented with a new format and I think it went well, perhaps ask your children how they liked it and shoot me a brief email if you have thoughts on the new format. I will be sharing some of the photos with you in a newsletter this week.

I chatted with a few parents this week and wanted to clarify when students will be writing final exams. Final exams will be written after winter break, during the week of January 22nd to 26th.

PAC meeting in the CSS library at 5:30

Friday December 22nd
PAC Christmas Luncheon for students and community guests
Last day of classes prior to winter break.
Regular scheduled classes and class work.

Friday January 26th
The last day of semester two.

Monday and Tuesday January 29th and 30th
Project completion days for students who are academically at risk.
No regular classes

Wednesday January 31st
The first day of semester two.

Hello Parents and Guardians,

We are looking forward to seeing you and your children soon.

Tuesday September 5th, the first day of school, is a short day.
Busses will pick students up two hours later than usual, with school starting at 10:30 am.
Students will begin the day with a homeroom and then spend 20 mins with each of their teachers.
Students should come prepared with school supplies. I know that in my Physics 11/12 class we will be doing work the min they walk through the door, getting prepped for their lab on Wednesday.
Students will be dismissed at 12:30 pm with busses picking students up immediately after dismissal.


Welcome to our grade 8 parents who have now been added to our CSS parent email list. If you know someone who is not getting my emails please ask them to contact the office.

We encourage parents to come in and register new students as soon as possible. The first step is to come into the CSS office and complete a registration form. Please bring a birth certificate, care card, and last report card.

For parents who wish to review and adjust student timetables Mrs. Giesbrecht will be available for course planning appointments August 29th, 30th, and 31st from 10 am to 2 pm.
