We are very, very excited to have Elise Gardiner on board as our Land Based Learning Interpreter for this summer.

Elise has Clearwater roots (she'll be staying in "Grandma Gardiner's house" for the summer) and she's been a great help at the EcoChallenge in the past. She's already mastered the riding mower and is hard at work planning our summer activities!

The first Saturday of the month is almost upon us!

This time we're headed to the Rae Trail, north of Holland, and meeting at 9am. It looks to be a medium difficulty 10km hike, bring a lunch and appropriate footwear.

Our latest Artist-in-Residence, David Martinello from BC (Alternative Woodworks ), will be hosting an artist talk and print-based workshop on Thursday at 7pm. Come on down to the Harvest Moon Learning Centre and see how the prairies have impacted how he views trees and wood and art.

We've been too busy to post much lately. It's a wonderful problem to have but it means we've not promoted the Perennial Exchange well!

Come join us tomorrow and swap some perennials. Or house plants cuttings. Or seeds. Don't have anything to swap? Don't worry, come anyway. We've got lots of stuff for folks to take, others will be bringing and sharing, and you can tour the gardens and greenhouse, or check out the progress on the screen porch.

We'll be there from 11am to 1pm, we'll have Nika from The Bear Necessities Acres earnecessitiesacres with us and she'll happily chat with you about dahlias and so much more. And, as always, we'll have cupcakes from Tina at Clearwater Country Market market.

We had so much fun with the 80 (!) grade 1, 2, and 3 students from Crystal City Early Years school yesterday. They were on the trail and critter dipping with Elder Dave and Finn from , learned about the EnviroScape with Andrea from Pembina Valley Watershed District and made Healthy Soil cups in the kitchen with Dustin and Karly.

A big thank you to Jo-Lene and Karly and Brenda and Sheldon and Rhonda for their contributions to an excellent day.

Now we've got 40 grade 1 and 4 students from Manitou Elementary School. It's going to be another hot but fund day at the HA]arvest Moon Learning Centre.
