Just want to say thank you, to all those who supported me throughout this election, it means a lot. To be honest I am honored with the amount of votes I received, I certainly wasn't expecting it.

Thank you to all the citizens that not only cast their ballots, but took the time to get involved and informed. The increased interest in this year's election was great to see. I hope the trend continues in years to come.

Congratulations to the newly elected officials! The next 4 years are going to be extremely demanding with the raised expectations. I wish you all the best, as our beautiful town now depends on you.

Just a few hours from the final advanced poll.

Thank you all for your support over the last few weeks.

Happy voting!

Wow, how time has flown by over the last 3 weeks. I've done a pretty poor job of utilizing this page to advertise myself. Lol
I guess that's where I differ from some of the other Candidates, instead of self promotion and leading conversation, I've been connecting with the community and our citizens, and getting involved in conversation.
I don't feel as though I am a product I should be trying to sell to people, when my desire is represent you and to work diligently on your behalf. I feel that is earned, through action.

For those of you who have given me your time, to hear you, know that I appreciate it. I've had many great conversations over the last several weeks, that give me a lot of hope for our wonderful town.

For those I have not been able to have conversations with, I apologize, I wish I could have sat down and chatted with everyone.
If anyone has any questions they'd like addressed prior to October 18th, please feel free to get a hold of me, publicly, or privately.

Thank you Coaldale!

The nomination period has closed, and there are 13 Council candidates along with 2 Mayoral candidates. This is absolutely fantastic for our town. Seeing so many others step up, and show their desire to serve the community makes me proud to call Coaldale home.

With so many great candidates to choose from, I believe it's very important for citizens to get involved, ask questions, and learn what each candidate brings to the table. It's important that you are well informed about the vision and values each candidate will have as guiding principles.

It's very evident the main focus for this election is creating a more transparent, open, honest, accountable and compassionate group of leaders for the next Council.
But what does that mean to you? What are your expectations for your elected officials? What are your expectations for the next 4 years?

To me, Transparency means being able to provide all the information, no matter what side of the issue it supports, bias should not dictate what is put out to the public.
Openness means being able to have active conversation, or debate, knowing that your mind could be changed in the face of new information. If you go into a situation knowing your mind can't be changed, you're not open to the conversation.
Honesty means expressing your beliefs, opinions and biases, so those around you, know where you stand.
Accountability means being able to accept the consequences for your actions, and taking responsibility for your words and behaviors, past and present.
Compassion to me means being able to listen, understand, react and empathize with the opinions and beliefs of others.
A great leader in my eyes is someone who can motivate those around them to reach their potential, and then harness those strengths to fortify their own weaknesses. A leader should always be ambitious, but not for themselves, a leader should always work towards the goal of the community. A leader should lead by example, not force.

I expect that over the next 4 years, whomever is elected is able and willing to listen, to everyone, not just those who support them, while ignoring or bullying those who oppose them. I expect elected officials to put their biases aside, work as a team, and lead our town down a continually successful path of growth and prosperity.

As a citizen, I know what I'd love to see out of the next 4 years. Continued growth of our community, that will bring new programs, facilities and businesses to our growing population. A new school, and recreation center is a great start for our youth, but there's so much more that everyone in our community could benefit from. While other candidates may ask what you'd like to see for new business, I'm taking a different approach. My question is how can we help local entrepreneurs open the businesses our community so desperately needs? If elected, one of my visions would be to find ways to incentivize local entrepreneurs to keep their businesses local, and to provide their services to our community.

If you're curious to learn more about my visions and goals if elected to serve you on council, please feel free to reach out. If not, I hope you take some of the questions posed here, to other candidates, to learn more about them.

I look forward to learning more about the 12 other candidates over the coming weeks, so I, like the rest of you can make a well informed decision on October 18th!

It's official, I have submitted my nomination package, and will be running for Councillor for the 2021-2025 term.

I've created this page to connect directly with the citizens of Coaldale. Some of you may already know me, but many of you may not, so feel free to ask questions to find out who I am personally, or what I stand for when it comes to our community.

I'll get you started:

I've lived in Coaldale now for nearly 7 years. We moved here from Calgary, and it was the best decision of our lives. We love Coaldale and the small town, close knit lifestyle it provides.

I've been an active volunteer in community athletics since arriving. I've coached both baseball and hockey. I'm now heading into my 4th year as President of Coaldale Baseball Association. I also run Adult Shinny in town, and have created and organized several hockey tournament fundraisers over the last few years to benefit local families through the Coaldale Food bank.
I sat on the Sport and Recreation committee to help facilitate the development of the upcoming Recreation center.

I've always been a problem solver, and analytical thinker, which has lead me to a career as a Data Analyst. I love digging through stats to present facts that help make educated decisions. This is a reason I feel being a Councillor would be challenging and rewarding. I want to be able to help make informed decisions on behalf of the citizens of Coaldale.

Outside of work and volunteering, I enjoy relaxing at home with my wife, son, dogs and cat. I am a die-hard hockey fan, and try to stay active playing hockey and softball throughout the year. We love to travel, and learn about different places and cultures.
