Next Wednesday, September 2, and Thursday, September 3 are professional activity (PA) Days for education staff.

We hope everyone had a relaxing summer break and is looking forward to the start of the 2026-2027 school year!

As schools reopen to the public, and families begin to prepare for the return to school, here are the important dates/reminders:

• Schools reopen: All school buildings will reopen to the public on Tuesday, September 1.

• Return to school information: Families should expect to receive new school year information directly from their child's school starting as early as Tuesday, September 1.

• The first day of school: The first day of school for both elementary and secondary students is Tuesday, September 8.

Note: Kindergarten students may have a staggered start and this information is shared directly from the school.

• School year calendar: The 2026-2027 school year calendar can be found on the Board’s Calendar page: https://www.tldsb.ca/calendar/

• Transportation information: Transportation information for the 2026-2027 school year is available via https://www.mybustoschool.ca/ in the parent portal.If parents/guardians have any issues viewing their child’s route information, contact TLDSB Transportation Services via phone at 705-324-6776 extension 21287, or email at [email protected].

• School Cash Online: TLDSB schools use the School Cash Online platform to allow parents/guardians to pay for their child’s school-related fees. Learn more about this service by visiting our Online Payments page: https://www.tldsb.ca/online-payments/

• SchoolMessenger: SchoolMessenger is a parent notification service the Board and its schools use to communicate directly with parents/guardians via phone call, email, text message, and/or app notifications.
