As of April 1, garbage disposal fees at all Community Recycling Centres (CRCs) will increase from a minimum tip fee of $13.00/100kg ($130.00/tonne) to $15.00/100kg ($150.00/tonne). https://northumberland.ca/news/changes-to-disposal-fees-at-community-recycling-centres-beginning-in-april/

As of April 1, garbage disposal fees at all Community Recycling Centres (CRCs) will increase from a minimum tip fee of $13.00/100kg ($130.00/tonne) to $15.00/100kg ($150.00/tonne)
The disposal fee charged for leaf and yard waste will be reduced from $130/tonne to $75/tonne. This new rate will apply to all quantities, with a minimum charge of $7.50 applied to loads weighing less than 100 kgs.

Some residents may experience disruptions to curbside waste and recycling collection today (January 26) due to poor road conditions.
If your collection does not occur by 7 PM, please:
Remove your waste/recycling from the curbside.
Place it out again on your next scheduled collection day.
Affected areas can place up to 4 waste bags (with tags) per household on the next collection day.

Community Recycling Centres will close at 4:30pm today (January 21st) due to ongoing weather conditions.

During these cold months, stick your bag tags end-to-end like a clothespin around the neck of your garbage bags, above the knot. Bag tags put on the side of bags, lose their ability to stick during frigid temperatures and will fall off, leading to a potential rejected collection.
