🥶 Using a space heater now that it’s getting colder?

Just a couple reminders:

🔥 Keep it at least 1 metre away from anything that could catch fire.

🔌 Plug it straight into the wall. Don’t use an extension cord or power bar.

And don’t leave it running when you’re not around.

Covert Street Update

Crews will be working after hours on Covert Street tonight, October 15, to complete some upgrades.

No power outages are expected, but please plan to take an alternate route if possible. At the very least, don't be surprised if you see our crews out working tonight!

Thanksgiving Outage Followup

No ground breaking finds here. It was exactly as it appeared to be on Saturday. Our review found that a lead wire burned off an airbreak switch, affecting one phase of the electrical supply. Depending on how a property is connected, this can result in anything from a partial outage to a complete loss of power.

The switch was maintained earlier this year. Unfortunately, even with regular maintenance, equipment failures can still happen.

We know the length of this outage was frustrating for those affected, and we appreciate everyone's patience while crews worked to repair the damage.

ROADS: Please note, the following Lane restriction and short-term closure to through traffic will be in effect from Wednesday, October 14 at 12 a.m. to Friday, October 23 at 6 p.m. as Lakefront Utilities completes upgrades to the electrical grid on Covert Street and the Covert Street parking lot.
