Highway 1A/22 Interchange update:
Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors advises that a major traffic shift will occur this week as part of the Hwy 1A/22 interchange project.
The shift will begin the evening of Wednesday, September 11, and be completed overnight, with new lanes open for the Thursday morning commute. Traffic on Highway 22 will move to new pavement north of the temporary roundabout, rejoining the existing pavement near Ranche Road. The connection to the roundabout will change, and drivers should proceed with caution. A new ramp from westbound Highway 1A to northbound Highway 22 will also open, allowing traffic to bypass the temporary roundabout. The shift will happen in stages overnight, with brief traffic stoppages, and new signage will be in place to guide drivers. Closed sections of old pavement will be removed following the shift. Please drive carefully and be mindful of the new traffic setup.
