The Town of Collingwood honoured International Overdose Awareness Day today with a moving ceremony, organized by Tracks Employment and Resource Services, and a flag-raising. We remember and honour those who have died from overdose and acknowledge the grief of families, friends, and communities left behind💜

Mayor Hamlin, Deputy Mayor Fryer, and Councillors Jeffery and Potts attended the event on behalf of Council. Community members, including event organizers from Tracks Employment, gathered at the community flagpole.

The Collingwood Museum has planned two days of special events, including a commemorative flag raising, screenings of the film The Last Launch: The Rise and Fall of Collship, the popular Hard Hats on Hurontario march, a shipyard workers group photo, and more!
