We love it when participants from our programs share photos of their completed crafts! Last month, our Connecting with Seniors program enjoyed painting beautiful wooden lanterns and the activity was a huge hit. Today, we received a photo from one of our seniors proudly showing off her finished lantern, and we were so impressed by the stunning hand-painted design that we just had to share it with all of you! What a wonderful example of creativity, talent and the joy that comes from trying something new.

Breaking Down Barriers was proud to participate in the 2nd Annual Age-Friendly Seniors Health Fair in Grey Highlands, held today at the Osprey Community Centre in Feversham!

This year’s event was hosted in a larger venue and was very well attended, bringing together community members, leaders, organizations, and service providers from across the region. Our team had a wonderful opportunity to connect with so many people, share information about our free programs, supports, and services, and hear firsthand about the needs and interests of seniors in our communities.

We were also excited to network with fellow organizations and community leaders, building new relationships and exploring future partnerships that will help us continue supporting seniors throughout the region.

A special congratulations goes out to our table draw winner, Sharon! Not only did she take home a fun basket of goodies, but she will also be joining our Connecting with Seniors program. Welcome, Sharon!

Thank you to the organizers for putting together such an incredible event. We appreciate all the hard work that went into making the day such a success. We look forward to working with the many new connections we made and continuing to collaborate to build stronger, more connected, and age-friendly communities for everyone.

Thank you to everyone who joined our Wellness Without Barriers program today for a wonderful "Gentle Fitness" class led by Sally Sunshine Seniors Fitness. Participants attending both in person and via Zoom experienced the many benefits of low-impact, restorative exercise designed to improve strength, flexibility and balance through controlled, mindful movements. The class provided a safe and enjoyable way to stay active without placing unnecessary strain on joints or overexerting the body. A sincere thank you to Sally for sharing her time, expertise and enthusiasm with our group.
