Thank you again to the CDTA for their work in moderating and compiling the questions for last night’s Trustee Candidate Forum.
Thank you to all the question submitters for your thoughtful and relevant submissions. As each Trustee candidate and the acclaimed Trustees all answered the questions posed, we did not have time to get through all of the submissions. Thank you to all of the Trustee candidates for the City of Courtenay as the three candidates compete for the two Trustee seats for Courtenay. Thank you for putting your names forward and your efforts and intentions to work for all students in the Comox Valley. Thank you to all of acclaimed Trustees for stepping into a role that will require long hours and evenings filled with heavy work that can be incredibly meaningful for families when done with heart and integrity for all students and all families, with students always at the centre. Thank you to GP Vanier Secondary for hosting and use of the public space. General voting day for the City of Courtenay (because all other Trustees are acclaimed) is October 17th, from 8am-8pm at Queneesh Elementary and the Florence Filberg. Advance voting was on Wednesday Oct 7th and again on Wednesday October 14th from 8am-8pm at the Florence Filberg. Thank you.

Via Youth Mental Health Canada: a survey on school attendance challenges, school refusal, and student mental health. Many students and families grapple over the span of school years with school-specific anxiety, mental health and wellness, and struggles with consistent attendance. Surveys can help with giving resource providers and advocates the information they need to leverage the gov’t for increased and targeted supports.
