It’s that time again - Halloween is fast approaching! While many are busy planning decorations, costumes, and other fun activities, it’s also the perfect time to focus on keeping your family and neighbours safe.

Here are some simple tips to prevent fires and injuries during the festivities:
🎃 Keep your front entrance or designated “trick-or-treat” area well-lit to safely welcome guests.
🎃 Instead of decorating with candles, use a flashlight, glow stick, or battery-operated candles.
🎃 Prioritize fire safety when designing costumes and decorating your home. Bright, reflective costumes or adding reflective tape can make you more visible in the dark.

News Release: Declaration of Official 2026 Municipal Election Results for the Town of Comox

The Town of Comox would also like to thank everyone who participated in the 2026 General Local Election. A special thank you goes out to all the candidates who put their name forward and dedicated their time, energy and passion to serving this community.

Congratulations to the elected Mayor, Councillors and Comox School Trustee for Comox Valley Schools!

The Inaugural Council Meeting will take place in Council Chambers on Wednesday, November 4, at 5 p.m. The meeting is open to the public and will also be recorded and livestreamed on the Town’s YouTube channel.

Hey Comox! The VI Regional Library Comox is having a Hallowe’en sleepover party for stuffies!

Drop-off is on Oct. 22 & 23 with no registration required! Pickup is from Oct. 31 onwards.

They'll take frightfully good care of every stuffy as they treat them to eerie entertainment, mysterious mischief, and spine-tingling adventures! You’ll receive a keepsake booklet filled with photos and a story of everything your stuffy got up to after dark.

Ages 0-12. One stuffy per child

The Town of Comox is lowering our flags to half-mast following the tragedy at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright, Alberta, on October 17, 2026.

We stand in solidarity with CFB 19 Wing, CFB Wainwright, veterans, first responders and military families as our community joins Canadians in mourning.

Our thoughts are with those affected by this tragic incident. Wishing for the healthy recovery of those who are still in critical condition in hospital, and their loved ones.

Sending love and care to our military families and those who continue every day to sacrifice their lives for Canada and our sovereignty 🇨🇦
