Paul Connors, M.P.

Paul Connors, M.P. Member of Parliament for the riding of Avalon, NL My name is Paul Connors, and I am your Liberal Party candidate for Avalon.

Born to Stan and Evelyn Connors, I grew up on Bell Island before moving to Kelligrews in Conception Bay South in 1970. Myself, My wife, Michelle, and our two children, Jenna and Bradley, still live in CBS today. I graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland with a Bachelor of Commerce, a Diploma in Business Administration, and a Certificate in Business Administration. Over my career, I've h

eld senior management positions, including 14 years as Executive Director of the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Agriculture. There, I advocated for farmers, developed educational tools, and secured transformative funding and legislative changes for the agricultural industry. Most recently, I’ve worked as Executive Assistant to our current MP, Ken McDonald. In this role, I've watched him stand-up for the people of Avalon time and again. He’s shown me what it means to be the voice of the people in Ottawa, and not the other way around. I’m committed to continuing this legacy. I’ve also been honored to serve two terms as a councilor here in Conception Bay South, contributing to significant improvements in our community like improving access to state of the art recreation facilities in the new CBS stadium and the recently announced indoor recreation facility at the Gateway. I’m deeply committed to volunteerism, having coached generations of kids in minor hockey and served as chair of the Sammy’s Climb Higher Foundation and the Conception Bay South ATV Committee and served on many other committees and boards related to economic development, agriculture and sport. With the experience, passion, and dedication to our community, I’m ready to represent Avalon in Ottawa. I ask for your trust to continue the progress we’ve made and to work toward a brighter future for all.

I wanted to give a shoutout to some of our recent Newfoundland Witnesses in AGRI committee. We first had Tina Bishop and Rev. Fred Marshall who came to Ottawa last week as representatives of the Community Food Sharing Association.

Then, this week we had Joshua Smee who came as a representative of Food First NL.

Both parties provided very important testimonies for our study on food insecurity.
Thank you all for the work you do for Newfoundlanders and Labradorians and the clear dedication you have to the province and our communities. Your perspectives and insight shared with both myself and my colleagues are vital to ensure first hand representation for NL in our studies.

🎣Northern Cod is back in the Healthy Zone 🎣

With stock levels now in the healthy zone for the first time in decades, the 2026 total allowable catch will increase. This will support sustainable growth, our coastal communities, and increase long-term economic opportunity.

In the House today I rose to honour the life and service of Johnny Pauls. One of the last WW2 veterans in our province, his service to Newfoundland and the community of Spaniard's Bay was invaluable.

He will be fondly remembered by all and he should serve as an inspiration to us all to aim for his level of dedication for the betterment of our communities.

✨ Celebrating Our Graduates! ✨

This week, we are incredibly proud of two remarkable members of our team who have reached an exciting milestone convocation!

🎓 Kathryn has earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Biosciences, with a Minor in Math. Kathryn has been part of our team since 2018, dating back to the previous Member of Parliament. We’ve truly had the privilege of watching her journey unfold: every class, every exam, and every accomplishment along the way. This fall, she begins her Bachelor of Education, with the goal of becoming a high school teacher. We have no doubt she will inspire countless young minds in the years ahead!

🎓 Rylee has graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a Minor in Religious Studies. Since joining us last year, Rylee has become our research extraordinaire! She is now continuing her work with us through the SLP program and has made the move to our Ottawa office, where she’s already thriving and making a strong impact.

We are so fortunate to have such driven, talented, and inspiring young women on our team. The entire office and most especially the M.P., could not be prouder of all both have accomplished.

Please join us in congratulating Kathryn and Rylee on this well-deserved achievement! 🎉
